@@MrRockNRollLive Yeah, and it's the whole human history compacted there, when the lizard and snake come. Quinn listed all those musical referencies, stwjester told it's the evolution music in 20 secs… And the Metallica part actually ends in a few techno beats, to take in also the machine made music industry as well - there just in the very end, before continuing to the single grain of sand, where it's tied, like F1rst World NomaD said.

The song title is taken from a 2009 book by evolutionary biologist and atheist writer Richard Dawkins, concerning the evidence for biological evolution. Dawkins also contributes towards the album. Holopainen explained to HMV in March 2015: "I wrote him a letter a bit more than a year ago and explained the ideas we had for this album, mainly to do with evolution. Since one of the tracks would be named directly after one of his books, it felt like a perfect match to try to get him do some reciting on the album. He sent me an email a few weeks later accepting the invitation." "Later in 2014 we then recorded his parts at Hats Off Studios, Oxford. This is a huge honor for us, since Dawkins is one of our biggest heroes and his writings have been huge inspiration for the album."

Archaean horizon The first sunrise On a pristine gaea Opus perfectum Somewhere there, us sleeping After sleeping through a hundred million centuries We have finally opened our eyes on a sumptuous planet, sparkling with color, bountiful with life Within decades we must close our eyes again Isn't it a noble and enlightened way of spending our brief time in the sun To work at understanding the universe and how we have come to wake up in it? The cosmic law of gravity Pulled the newborns around a fire A careless cold infinity in every vast direction Lonely farer in the Goldilocks zone She has a tale to tell From the stellar nursery into a carbon feast Enter LUCA The tapestry of chemistry There's a writing in the garden Leading us to the mother of all We are one We are a universe Forebears of what will be Scions of the Devonian sea Aeons pass Writing the tale of us all A day-to-day new opening For the greatest show on Earth Ion channels welcoming the outside world To the stuff of stars Bedding the tree of a biological holy Enter life The tapestry of chemistry There's a writing in the garden Leading us to the mother of all We are one We are a universe Forebears of what will be Scions of the Devonian sea Aeons pass Writing the tale of us all A day-to-day new opening For the greatest show on Earth We are here to care for the garden The wonder of birth Of every form most beautiful Every form most beautiful We are one We are a universe Forebears of what will be Scions of the Devonian sea Aeons pass writing the tale of us all A day-to-day new opening For the greatest show on Earth After a billion years The show is still here Not a single one of your fathers died young The handy travelers out of Africa Little Lucy of the Afar Gave birth to fantasy To idolatry To self-destructive weaponry Enter the God of gaps Deep within the past Atavistic dread of the hunted Enter Ionia, the cradle of thought The architecture of understanding The human lust to feel so exceptional To rule the Earth Hunger for shiny rocks For giant mushroom clouds The will to do just as you'd be done by Enter history, the grand finale Enter ratkind Man, he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day'll cease to be Greet the last light of the library Man, he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day'll cease to be Greet the last light of the library Man, he took his time in the sun Had a dream to understand A single grain of sand He gave birth to poetry But one day'll cease to be Greet the last light of the library We were here! We were here! We were here! We were here! "We are going to die, and that makes us the lucky ones Most people are never going to die because they are never going to be born The potential people who could have been here in my place But who will in fact never see the light of day outnumber the sand grains of Sahara Certainly those unborn ghosts include greater poets than Keats, scientists greater than Newton We know this because the set of possible people allowed by our DNA So massively exceeds the set of actual people In the teeth of those stupefying odds it is you and I, in our ordinariness, that are here We privileged few, who won the lottery of birth against all odds How dare we whine at our inevitable return to that prior state From which the vast majority have never stirred?" There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers Having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one And that whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity From so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been And are being, evolved

If you listen really closely, (easier on the album version) there's tribal music that goes from one side of the speakers to the other, and then there's a long gregorian chant that comes in and fades to the other side, then the little piccolo type thing, then there's a lute type instrument strumming a chord, then it's the harpsichord(?) thing, then it all kicks in again. I bought this album on day of release, and only recently noticed these lol. This song is amazing to listen to on headphones. There's so much stuff, water noises, rocks crumbling, especially the huge ocean soundscape right at the end, the creaking of a boat, the ocean waves, animal noises, then the last sound is a single human breath.

He'll also need someone to explain the 'technical' terminology within these lyrics. If you're interested watch the reaction video of 'The B and S Show'. There is a comment from Chris Tomashofski who really did an excellent job on this.

Hi Mr Rock N Roll!!!!! I was at Nightwish in Wacken in 2013. In my opinion it was one of the best Nightwish concerts I've seen so far and I've already seen 25 Nightwisch live concerts. The Nightwish 2021 concert in a virtual world was very interesting for me because they played the new songs Humen. Greetings Wolfi

August 24th Floor is a participant in a Dutch tv program called "Beste Zangers" (best singers). Its a program where Dutch singers do other people's songs with there own spin on it. (google Davina Michelle Beste Zangers for some great performances). It should be watchable online for everyone.

The song before this one was "The Last Ride of the Day", I hugely request that one. And for this song, man, what can we say. This song has a powerful meaning and at the end it makes you think about everything. Especially that last line, "We Were Here!", every single time I sing that line with tears in my eyes.

It‘s a real pleasure for me, that there is someone out there, who likes this song like I do. Since I listen to music, I thought, that the best songs on earth are more than 30 years of age. I have heared a lot of music, but there was nothing that can compeed with Bohemian Rhapsody or Stairway to Heaven - until I heard this...This is really the greatest Show on earth...

During this concert Floor's parents were in the audience very close to the stage, Floor avoided eye contact because she was afraid that she got to emotional and started to cry during the performance. Her parents have allways supported her in her choice to go to the Rock Academy ( she was in the first year that it excisted, and she did some conservatorium later to learn how to use your voice in an operatic style without damaging your throat). And they are very proud parents. By the way the gentle voice at the and is Richard Dawkins.

Im putti g this question down here cause I'm emberasst to ask this, in hoping for an eventual respone. Is Floor pregnant here? I know she did a last show of the tour in Finland at four months pregnant but I have to have a direct answer sometimes like a yes or a no. All the articles are confusing me. Sorry but does anyone know? You seem to know alot.

25,000 people at the show in a town with a population of 226,000, so approximately 10% of the city's population was there, but actually the people came from all over Finland and from many foreign counties. At Wacken in 2013 the crowd was over 82,000 people.

I get megachills everytime I hear that "We were here" line... I saw them live back in November last year and the performance of this piece brought me to tears. And kudos for catching that Enter Sandman bit. Many people seem to miss it and it's such an awesome shout out to Metallica, placing them on the timeline of, basically, geological history. Love that. If you enjoy Marco's vocals, I suggest you react to The Islander from Tampere. The Islander is a beautiful ballad and during that show, they took it to a whole 'nother level.
