Irish traditional fiddle player Liam O’Connor pays tribute to legendary fiddler from The Coomb in Dublin’s inner city, Tommy Potts. Filmed at a house session hosted by the esteemed Irish traditional accordion player Tony MacMahon.

So great to see this little speech about Tommy Potts and hear a fiddler who is a worthy successor. I have loved Tommy's music since John Peel first played it in the early 70's. A unique talent.

Of all people Tadgh, you are the one person who would have seen that Mick's interpretation of Potts' playing is completely off the mark. Potts virtually never played dance music, which is what Mick Ó Connor is playing. Soul music would better describe what Tommy Potts played, at least its what he played on his countless visits to the west of County Clare. May he rest in peace.
