Just to clarify: not every wedding is this expensive. You don't need to blow half of your life savings on a lovely wedding. What matters is that a couple celebrate their love and commitment to one and other not how much they spend on it. A wedding that celebrates what matters will be amazing no matter how much money was spent.

I do video for weddings, you'll get absolute garbage worthless photos if you pay someone $200 to shoot your wedding, like literally not one of them will be in focus or properly exposed and the big moments won't be captured, I've seen it happen before. She said photo AND video for $4k, which isn't bad for both. Cameras, tax, insurance, software, travel, skill, etc all add up to making photo/video more expensive than you think it should be but that's what it takes to do a good job and make a living. And it's the only thing from your wedding you'll have to remember it, it's worth paying a real professional to capture the day, especially when people start dying. Ask any old person what they would give to be able to see their parents and family again on their wedding day. $2000 is cheap

@@RorySinn You're dead wrong. Some of us have good friends who do professional photography who we've done big favors for in the past or are just that close with that absolutely will do a favor. Obviously I'd still offer to cover their costs myself but I have ones who I helped with moves last minute when nobody else would who understand you can't put a price on that level of friendship and commitment. Paying the cost of them doing it to them is nothing as a favor in return.

Obviously if you can emotionally blackmail a pro photographer to doing your wedding for cheap they'll probably be okay, that's not the same thing as paying someone who takes $200 as standard. Also, pro photographers/videographers generally dislike shooting friends/family's weddings because they get cheaped out on and it often seems to end in fights, somehow. Go on any photography board and ask about it

I did wedding and voucher and venue for way less and I had dress and all 4 prides maids and matron and he did same . I did the decorating and I made flower arrangements. Cake my friend made it but it was less than 5000 . My dress was 75.00 bucks used with a huge train and I had it altered for 125.00 . 🙂
