Why is everyone here assuming so much? I didn't divorce him- WE decided as a couple to end things. It was many years of not working and many conversations that went no where because it was like trying to communicate with a wall. He wouldnt get help, he didnt want to, he wouldnt go to therapy with me, he wouldnt talk to me, there was nothing I could do and by the final year- we barely even spoke anymore because what is there left to talk about with a relationship that dead? Not much. We are good friends now and now he is a changed person and I'm grateful for it. I hope when he decides to be with someone again that he doesnt treat them the way he treated me. He hopes that as well because he recognizes what it was he did to me for those years.
