Such a healthy, responsible and mature way to make such a life-changing decision. I wish more young people recognised the monumental importance of having children and didn't treat it so lightly. Maybe then there wouldn't be so many broken relationships and children being raised by single parents.

100% agree. My mom is a psychiatrist and she has interviewed many individuals that come from broken families, being single parents, having early pregnancies, divorces, etc. Having a child really is a life-changing decision that should revolve around a healthy mature relationship. I’ve definitely learned alot from hearing about the people that go through so many relationship problems.

My sentiments exactly. Slaiman and Katie have done things the way it is meant to be responsibility wise. They have build a strong foundation which not be easily shaken or broken. You guys have set a great example and I truly hope your viewers take this into account for their own lives. Slaiman you told Kate in this video that there should be more like her in this world and I too agree...but give yourself some credit mate... we need more men like you too. You are a great role model and I'm sure you will guide your offspring/child to do the very same. Same with Katie...she will be a strong part of your child's development as she truly is an inspiration to us all, and that child will be lucky to have such exemplary parents and I hope he, she, or they follow your lead...you never know how many total kids you'll have so I'm throwing it out there.

This. Most young parents today get pregnant unplanned when they are unmarried. In those situations, usually one of three outcomes happens. The people who are dating either break up due to stress from the unplanned pregnancy, one of the parents abandons their significant other and child, or the two parents wait years to get married or make a full commitment to their relationship/family. Slaiman and Kate actually did the smart and responsible thing by waiting to have kids until they were fully committed to eachother through marriage and ready for kids. Best wishes to them!

one of my biggest fears is having a baby without having that exact conversation before with my partner. i'm a person that is scared of being a parent, i think i'm gonna be a good mom, but the process of raising a freaking person and making him/her a good and respecting one seems so hard or rather i'm freaked if i'm gonna succeed in making him a good person. the other thing is the state of the world we're in right now, it's damn scary so it makes me wonder if i sould bring another soul into this mess. sorry for my rant, jeez. i guess i had to let this out...

Thank you guys for sharing that with with us, it was a special moment. I'm 71 and I can still remember the moment when my wife and I decided the exact same thing. My oldest daughter just passed her 40th birthday. I always say the experience of having young children was 10 times harder than I could ever have imagined, but 10 times more joyful than I ever could have imagined also.

Thinking about how it was 10 times harder than I imagined. Two weeks before my daughter was born my wife said to me "Could you please cut down on your golf at the weekend as I am going to need some help". Since I was playing once every weekend I agreed with her to cut down to once every two weeks. As soon as my daugher was born I didn't play golf again for 6 years, and even then it was with the company I worked for's Golf Society and I managed about 4 times a year.

One of my favorite parts about life is sharing special moments with my children. I think you guys would make good parents. It is an amazing thing specially when you are ready and really want to. I never had a childhood myself. I was born in a war torn country in a strict and violent family. I was abused, beaten up, bullied at home and school. Until I was 26 I my life was sh!t. I finally left them for good and met a beautiful and wonderful girl. We got married and after struggling in life for a few years, we became parents to a beautiful and amazing boy. I want him to have a beautiful life without any of those bad things I experienced. I want him to feel loved not hated. I don't just want to be his dad. I want to be his best friend too; someone he can talk to about anything he wants. Even the days my old wounds and pains bothers me so much that I can not get out of the bed, I still get up and spend some quality time with him. In return his laughter and screams...calling me daddy with excitement to show me ever little thing he sees or notices makes all my sadness go away. I can live all my childhood dreams through him...I can experience the world through him. My life story is a very long story. I hope someday I write it or share it with the world. I have risked my life for him so many times to get him to a better place in life and so far I succeeded. The fight and struggle for a better life will continue and I won't give up. Don't give up chasing happiness in life. Enjoy every second of your life and let me be the first to congratulate you on the kid ( I hope I'm the first to do so). It is a wonderful thing.
