Would you say doing this alone is okay? Or should only be attempted with at least one other person? The non cable sections are definitely terrifying

I think that it all depends on your comfort level. I would probably recommend bringing at least one person, just in case you get yourself in a pinch, but I wouldn't say it is mandatory.
