My son had me in tears enough times with frustration. He used to get so angry and slam doors and throw things. But we knew we loved each other. Lifes hard. (That was 10 yrs ago now) Kids are having a hard, unstable schooling at the minute. As we know they need routine and discipline. But Cyndee you are amazing what you do. You must be proud of yourself. Give yourself a big pat on your back. You're doing a wonderful job.😊 Make yourself happy. We'll still be here if you need a day off to have family time.

Hello from Idaho! Enjoying your lessons so much. That butterfly is absolutely beautiful! Thank you.

I have to laugh as I sure crammed a lot into a small area. I’ve made my own round paper to draw on and it’s only 3.5 inches round so it’ll fit in a binder with pockets for all the art. I keep forgetting to scale things down. But I did get that butterfly in. LOL Shading and I need a lot of practice, so I give up and go to color. LOL Thanks for another fun day. Now back to 2020 day #51. Ps: Sorry you’re having a cold winter day. It’s 75° here in Arizona so I’m sitting on the patio doing this.

I wanted to draw on something grey today and the first thing I came to was a 2 1/2” x 5” scrap of cardstock. So I sort of went on my own tangent, but I did use Temari and Pokeroot. Colored and shaded with chalk pencils. We did have snow in our forecast for a few days but it ended up hitting 40 miles north of here....along with freezing rain. Oh boy! I’m sure glad we missed that stuff. Stay warm!

I am finding this so relaxing just watching you draw this beautiful pattern. I always have a hard time hearing the speakers on my laptop, and for some reason today remembered the headphones I got my husband to wear when he was in dialysis. They are really wonderful. It's like I'm in the same room with you.

I used to make Temari balls and do demonstrations at schools and fairs. The art goes back several centuries and it's amazing what artisans did back then as well as today. Mothers would make them for their daughters as a wedding gift. It was something the daughter could hold and contemplate, while remembering her mother as she traveled to her new home with her husband. Now, they are often given as New Year's gifts, Some sources say they were also used as toys, but after all the work that goes into making one, I cannot fathom the idea of giving it to a child to play with!

I have a temari Christmas ornament that my mom made when when she was a member of our embroidery guild. She died at age 100 in 2017 and was making beautiful counted cross-stitch pictures up into her 80's when she began losing her sight. She had told me what it was when she gave it to me, but I forgot about it until I read about this tangle.

Well, it took me 11 hours to watch this video. I had so many interruptions! Anyway, I love Temari in flower and butterfly form! Also, I like the little toppings to Rixty. I can do this! Thank you. (I heard the song Oklahoma for the first time at my high school play in Arizona in 1968!)

Today (2/12/21) it is a frigid 10 degrees in Moses Lake, WA and though there is snow all around us, we only have about 17 flakes of it - thankfully. Appreciating your lesson today as a distraction from the cold and the political scenes.

I don't know how you remember all the names of the 'tangles'. How many are there altogether ? Obviously the number must go up, quite quickly, weekly 👅👅👅(that's a tongue twister). 👅👅👅 A good guess will do . Thanks for giving me a bit of fun. LOOK AFTER YOURSELF FIRST. We are patient 'tanglers'. There are plenty of videos I havn't seen of yours. So if you need a rest we can always make 101 days of Zentangle. Don't get overwhelmed. We'll still be here waiting for your next inspiration.
