If Roger Linn will implement the classic sounds of his early Linn drummachines it will rise up like a rocket.

thank you, been looking for a tempest video with "boring, simple beats" that showcase the straight up rhythm potential.

One of the best demos of the Tempest. Thanks for showing all the variety of sounds. Do want!

yet ANOTHER shining example of why Dave Smith is A GOD AMONGST MERE MORTALS in the hardware synth/programming biz. as much fun as i had playing with Arturia's Spark, when i got my hands on Tempest, it just reinforced my confidence in the Poly Evolver that i traded my original Virus in for. Dave Smith has the most bland, common, boring name in music and yet EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS INSTRUMENTS is the EXACT OPPOSITE: delicious, unique, stimulating sounds that you simply CANNOT find anywhere else.

@clubdeejay Well, some of the highs and some of the lows are missing, but its 90% there i'd say. i dont think people will complain about bass with the tempest, thats for sure. i think it REALLY helps that each drum sound is run thru a lopass and hipass filter.

Awesome piece of kit if you don't need a kick drum, pair it with an Electribe 2, kick from that, awesome.

Hey mate, can u get solid 909 style kicks of this bad boy? I.e. Stuff solid enough for geniune techno and house? Agree with the comment below about 80's sounds, but the last few minutes of this vid were a bit more in the department I'm looking for. Cheers, and great vid thanks.

@M3sslah agreed, i haven't seen any demos of this thing doing big, analog sounding kicks. you'd think a $2000 machine could do that, considering what you can do with a $350 mbase 11.

Nice demo! Cwejman S1 in the back?
@M3sslah13 жыл бұрын
@shayeasy Yeah I mean you get an awesome Xbase 999 from jomox for 1100 euros then you can afford a DSI Tetra 4 on the side for the same price as the tempest, I would find that setup more appealing for now but maybe someone can show something better later.

How would you compare the uploaded audio vs what you heard from your monitors? (:
@jamessanger13 жыл бұрын
....so what do you think... is this a fancy drum machine or is it something more than that... something special ?... can you do things on it that you can't do on anything else ?
@M3sslah13 жыл бұрын
Hmm but really, how does the Tempest really sound because it's very unimpressing to use old 808 and 909 sounds I can hear them a mile away. Would be nice to hear a pure kickdrum from the tempest itself because I am yet to hear a really banging kickdrum but instead all this 80's inspired stuff, so can it actually do banging slamming thumpy kicks or what? Otherwise nice blips and blops but that wont get you the whole way.
