As we age we lose volume across the face, and replacing it subtly is often the secret to looking fresher and brighter.

My name is Dr Sarah Tonks, and I'm an aesthetic physician based in Knightsbridge, London. I have degrees in both medicine and dentistry, and diplomas in cosmetic science and dermatology (I've got a bit of an education addiction🤓) and have been practicing medical aesthetics for over 10 years. I think filling the temples looks WAY better. Great job Doctor Tonks. She looks younger afterwards. (It may be difficult to compare before and after due to different facial expressions...) Looks like she has cheek implants?? She is a gorgeous woman--beautiful bone structure for sure.

I agree with you! This video was a while ago and it's actually surprisingly difficult to take the before and after pics accurately 📸 I got an amazing camera now at the clinic for this exact reason and it's much easier to show the pictures which are in the newer vids!

I don’t mean this to hurt anyone, I just don’t think that these procedures in particular did her any favors. She lost a lot of symmetry to gain arched eyebrows and slightly smoother wrinkles. But if she feels better and more confident that’s really what matters.

I don’t think the prp will last and to be honest, I think she looks more harsh and angular. Her before she looks more pretty and soft. After she looks like she’s hardened and stressed out. I think prf mixed with filler under the eye would have been better and maybe mono Pcl threads to do the temples and other areas needing volume.

I know I am late commenting on this video but really appreciated the focus on filler in the temples. I get sculptura in my temples and it takes an entire syringe which is the same amount I get to fill out the hollows of my cheeks- a much larger area. It makes a huge difference! Showing longer hair in the after result maybe is the reason she appears older looking , if before and after results showed the hair the same maybe the results could be compared better .

When she was static I think she definitely looked better after treatment. However, when she smiled, it was quite obvious that she'd had said treatment which detracted from the overall result. Must be so tricky to find a balance!

Late comment but the work still holds up. I don't understand all the comments where she looked better before bc her cheeks were not unified with the temple area. She looks 15 years younger after the treatment, after her temples were filled. Everything looks better. There's more balance with the chin. The cheeks are more elevated. The eyes look better and are now lifted! She like looks like a young woman in the after picture.

Excellent work, Dr! It's amazing how a little more fullness in certain regions of the face can make one appear more youthful. I would recommend Templar implants for qualified candidates, particularly those with increased hollowing either due to age or anatomy. It's just more cost-effective, carries less risks compared to fillers and lasts a lifetime :)

@@DrSarahTonks I think there's a stigma of safety, particularly absence of information associated with any implants. Most people assume all implants are created equal. Breast implants for example, are made of soft pliable material whereas cheek implants are harder and more durable, hence the huge increase in longevity.

I like the work under her eyes and the lift of her eyebrow. I assume her lips were swollen. and will be smaller in a little while. Austerity in the face can be very elegant, tricky line between that and merely pretty. I understand you facing the thin skin and wrinkles which needed support and hydrating. Difficult.

I've tried fillers there before, but it just doesn't suit me due to the flatness of my face and the thinness of my skin. There is an anesthetic in the filler so as it is injected you get numb. Only the first one hurts a pinch like getting numb at the dentist's office

Dear Dr Tonks I've recently came across your channel and I must say it's really informative. I'd like to ask, what are you thoughts in regards to the PDO thread lifts? is it really worth it? and do they really last 2-3 years as they claim?

Jad Marz thank you! I think PDO definitely have a place but they are definitely not for everybody. They are good to get lift if you use cogged or barbed threads and useful in situations where there is no other way to get that lift. Unfortunately though there is a lot of downtime with them. The straight ones do work for tissue stimulation but I think there are probably better ways to do this now. They are good though as use as adjuncts alongside other treatments. As to the longevity, maybe 12 months is more realistic.
