I live in a mobile home in MOFFAT and I was begging God to spare my home because it's too old to get insurance on it. God must have heard my prayers because the worst that happened to us was loss of electricity.

I'm thankful for your Daughter also. Many were not that lucky. I Iive in Moffat in a mobile home out close to Belton Lake. I was terrified. Our power went out but I have a generator. When I learned about Temple I was in shock. I fear nothing in this world but a tornado 😳😧

Buddy I was too! My wife and I are 62 y/o and live in a mobile home. We live in Moffat. Just outside of Temple. Our power went out but I have a standby generator so we were able to watch the news. Whenever the weather man said for people to be prepared to get to our safe spots I just kept praying and asking God to spare my little trailer. It's all we have. We had no damage at all other than loss of electricity for a few days. I'm watching the news right now and it's showing the brick homes that were totally destroyed 😳😧. That just showed me if it's your day for bad luck not even a brick home is safe.😳

How much damage was caused to your building? I live out in Moffat in a mobile home and was terrified when we all lost power. I didn't know about the tornado until I started our standby generator to regain power. Then we heard about it on TV. As I watched the news I remember the weather man saying that a confirmed tornado had touched down in Temple and for everyone to get their safe rooms. Well when you live in a mobile home there is NO safe room. I just prayed a lot. I wish I had the money to have a tornado shelter put in but I don't. I even contacted Greg Abbotts office (our governor) to see if there were any state grants of funding to have one installed and they replied back "No". I told them that both my wife and I are 62 and disabled and that didn't matter.. I see that TSC had one that sits on top of the ground but I'm skeptical about spending:$3000 for one that weighs less than a car.

@@murraychadwick9362 our building was the only one that didn’t get damaged..but others doors got torn off and trees fell on cars and buildings.. some apartment rooms flooded, and a chimney flew into someone else’s building..but my building was fine.

That second picture is characteristic of wind and a strong straight line wind. The first is definitely a tornado
@vvolfsmal4 ай бұрын
Those lines are done for if you're standing that close and not getting step gradient shocks. That or they were phone lines. Not trying to diminish anything, it's important/life saving information to know that there is such thing as a step gradient with power lines.

How did this happen. I saw the hook on radar (more like a spinning nub area) and with each frame it was evident it was actually rotating and not just a coincidence in shape it was that intense but it wasnt tornado warmed at least I didn't see it I saw only severe thunderstorm warning I'm not a meteorologist but rotation that evident is what usually prompts tornado warnings
@StormChaserMaci.4 ай бұрын
This was tornado warned.... I was tracking this tornado for the NWS

Yes. The meteorologist of channel 6 news confirmed a tornado had touched down. I was glued to my TV because we live in Moffat in a mobile home. Everyone around me lives in mobile homes and we were all wondering where we should go.
