Listen, he was clearly severely stricken with mental illness, but he was an interesting figure nonetheless. It’s horrible how his life was cut short by his illness. I swear I can almost see him flash between "crazy" and lucid during the song, particularly when he's looking directly at the camera. I can't even imagine what it's like, being trapped in your own reality and having these small flashes of clarity where you know what's going on, but you can't do anything but observe it for the 5 seconds you have before you go back on auto-pilot.
