You have to do 1 part rice to 2 parts liquid on the rice (not 1 to 1). :) With the chopper lid on those mandelins you gotta pop it down fast.

My other two rice cookers both use a 1:1 ratio, but i'll give it another shot. My main issue is, no matter how long you leave it on or what amount you use it doesnt shut off like the others ones I had

@@UnboxAnalysisOfficial Oh no! If it does not auto shut-off, it's a no go! That can actually be dangerous. ~ My bad, I didn't realize other rice cookers called for 1:1. The other technique many people do is the water level above the rice should be up to the first knuckle of the middle finger. Usually about 3/4 of an inch or just under an inch.

@@jujujustme Honestly it doesnt auto shut off, but i think it would make a great unit for a hot pot if you keep an eye on it.

I mostly cook brown rice and it takes forever in these things, you have to keep adding water too thus it sits in my kitchen looking “pretty” lol while I grab my old fashion trusty pressure cooker that does a perfect job in 27 minutes at high altitude.

I JUST NOW SUBSCRIBED! And I only saw you use the chopper… A lot of people have disabilities. NO ONE. On KZbin shows people how to cope with an issue with their hands. I’d LOVE to see a whole video on hacks to use for people who still want to cook but struggle!! I’d watch every one!! I know so many others that would!!

Give that cute little rice cooker another chance! Google water to rice ratio. You'll see that this innocent rice cooker was deprived of a fair and just trial. Anyone who knows how to cook rice would agree that this innocent rice cooker needed way more water than it was provided. Had the responsible party done its research and provided the correct amount of water, said party could've been enjoying a nice bowl of fluffy buttery rice! Justice for the rice cooker! You are not using the chopper properly. You need to put a slice of the vegetable on the chopper that is no more than 1 cm thick, preferably sliced off and then you bang it down swiftly. I have been using a chopper for many years now and never had the problem that you have.

Good to know, even using it wrong i was fairly impressed with it. Only issue i ran into was with the softer skins on the outside! I'll make sure to retest this in a future cooking tech video! Thanks for the info Marty

@@marty49jm I have used chopper like this to cut whole potatoes to make hot chips as a side to fish or chicken and Julienned for stir frying. And use sliced potatoes to make a diced cube for soup or stew. It does not need to be just a 1 cm slice of vegetable or fruit used.
