Few years back my cat Feather was picked up by a hawk. Feather weighted about 15 pounds. We found her in our basement window well, not knowing what happened, and she had 3 holes in her front upper leg and 3 holes in her belly. The holes were from the hawks talons. It was awful. Later we found a bunch of her fur in our yard where she must have fought off the hawk. Thank God she had her claws. The vet fixed her up but she spent 2 weeks in the garage on meds. We couldn't let her in the house until we knew she didn't have anything contagious. So yes, Callie Rose could get snatched up. Be careful.

Oh my gosh!!! That must have been terrifying!! I am always super careful. We trained Callie to go potty on a patch of grass we put on the deck. I can't imagine letting her go in the backyard at night. Even thought it is fenced in, we have a low fence a coyote could easily jump. Scary!!
