Met office have made some mistakes with storm Bert the West Midlands had no weather warnings but we have had trees down and flooding we have had 64 mm of rain up till 5pm Sunday and it is still chucking it down 😢😢😢

I'll never understand all these wanting cold weather, it is expensive and disruptive. They must not have heating bills to pay, jobs to get to, children to get to / from school and lives to lead.

Only very high earners could afford to heat a home through a 1980's type winter.Even if anyone really likes the idea of biting painful wind chill and vehicles crashing and pedestrians falling over and being injured getting around on ice.

At last someone on my wave length. I 100% agree. very cold weather is for people with deep pockets. If we had a winter like 1963 it would be devastating and also have the people thought about their children being of school for at least a month.

@@nepaleseman1010 1981/2 is the benchmark which I go by. I was of working age doing an outside job as a driver. We had ice forming on the inside of our double glazing and the house still felt cold all even with central heating running flat out 24/7 for two weeks.At today's prices the maths would work out at around 20 kWh at 8p per kWh x 24 = almost £40 per day x around 14 days + the rest of the winter.

The majority say mild so will go with those for mow. Britain is more mild and wet than freezing and snow anyway

Won't be a mild December they didn't forecast all the snow we had in the backcountry last week so don't think they can forecast weeks in advance 😢😢
