Can't agree more with these tips! We just finished an Alaska cruise on the Jewel and found the same. Didn't try the Brazilian steak house but now wished we did, Cagneys was just and average steak house for us.

The app tells you were you are at? !!! That's great. I didn't know that! Does it also tell you where your friends are at? That was my biggest problem since my husband does not check his phone and the app does not make a sound on the receiver's phone to let him know he's gotten a new message. We are going on an Alaskan cruise in October with my husband, brother and my daughter's family. We are planning to use walkie talkies since the Norwegian $10 messenger is soooo bad. Now if it gives the location of the folks you are friends with, perhaps it might be worth it. Also, in my husband's defense, the wifi in general was bad on the Norwegian Encore - a message might not be instantaneously sent. You will look on his messages sent by me and you will just see "where are you" over and over, with no response. Very much frustrating. Love your reporting. Hope to see more from you folks.

We agree that the app’s chat feature is not all it could be. The app can be very helpful, but it does not use gps to locate you or anyone in your party. However, you can locate yourself using the deck plan maps in the app. We hope you have an amazing cruise. Thanks for watching!
