I am 73. For 30 years, I had arthritis pain. After giving up added sugars 5 years ago, my pain greatly diminished. After giving up grains 2 years ago, my pain disappeared.

I read Wheat Belly and was convinced that gluten was the most prevalent evil of our generation. I’ve now been an active anti-gluten advocate for 4 years and try to share the info from your book with as many people as I can, having successfully encouraged many folks to quit gluten as well!!! My personal testimony is this; I had arthritis in my wrists, very bad mental and emotional disturbance before my period (really bad mood swings plus suicidal thoughts and depression) and had a lot of constipation, irregular ‘s and overall irritability. Since quitting wheat all that is gone..all of it. I also found out I’m hypoglycemic which no wonder my moods were crazy. No more wrist pain, and smooth sailing BM’s. I couldn’t be more thankful for having found your book.

1. The gliadin protein in wheat is poorly digested in humans and is highly addictive stimulating appetite. 2. Gliaden derived opioid peptides have other mind altering effects. 3. Gliadin protein induces autoimmune response. 4. Amylopectin carbohydrate in grains raises blood sugar higer than almost all other foods. 5.Wheat germ agglutinin is potent bowel toxin. 6. Wheat germ agglutinin blocks pancreatic and gall bladder function (CCK). 7. Phytates bind minerals and block absorption. 8. Many modern wheat proteins are allergens. 9. Wheat causes endocrine hormone disruptions. PCOS 10. Big Food uses wheat to manipulate buying behavior.

Dark Wolf keto is good to get in shape like me. Same is with carbs. Once you are ok, some small amount of carbs is not problem, but they cant be your main and only resource of energy. Intermittent fasting, good excercise and real food is longterm answer. But if you are insulin resistent and prediabetic then carbs are enemy no. One.

I "gave up" wheat and grains about 6 months ago, after numerous minor issues with my digestion. (at least I thought they were minor) I also follow Dr.Sten Ekberg and began intermittent fasting and a light protein ketogenic nutrition plan. I have lost 19 pounds! No digestive issues at all! Absolutely no grains or seed oils or hidden sugars. Just whole foods and good sleep. At 74 years old I have never felt better! How marvelous is that? I am hoping that I will be able to introduce some organic wild rice, but in the meantime I have been using almond flour. I used to eat brown rice and quinoa bread..no more! So many healthy alternatives when you know that you are feeling better because of it. What a motivation! Thank you for this important information today. PS. When I was shopping yesterday, I observed a middle aged man scooping jelly jujubes into a bag. He had a huge stomach, but otherwise not overweight. In his shopping basket were a large bag of white flour baguettes and several huge beef sausages. 😢

I found this to be an excellent video and one that every person should see/hear... Just such a very simply explained tutorial on the effects of eating Wheat... My friend is a huge eater of wheat... she loves breads, crackers and pasta... the more the better... she suffers from alopecia... (all the hair on her whole body fell out and has not come back in over 5 years)... she has a skin condition that appears as scabs all over her arms & she is facing a knee-replacement now as her entire knee cap and bone are ground down and she is in horrible pain every day. The Doctors say she has an "auto-immune disease" but no way to cure it.I thinks he needs to stop eating and go on a water-only fast myself... Maybe it's the wheat she eats every day that causes all her health problems....? I mostly stopped eating all grains many years ago, but occasionally, I do end up having a small amount when it is problematic to eat in restaurants and with other people in general... At home I eat carnivore these days...

Yes!! I experienced that all the time. Hungry all the time. Soon after I ate. I was mostly vegan most of my life. My lifestyle and vegan diet would be considered incredibly healthy. No processed foods. I prepared my own meals and the food was 90% organic. I must say I was bloated, gassy and hungry all the time. I had acid reflux, skin disorders and fatigue after eating. I can honest say after increasing fat intake and eating eggs again and lowering my grain consumption, I feel so much better now. I'm not gassy or bloating and I don't have that crash after a meal. I don't have cravings anymore and eat only when hungry. My skin disorders are gone. As a matter of fact, my skin looks so much more supple and smooth.

If the show fits, put it on. I started gaining weight in the late eighties and for 30 years my diet went more and more out of control. This explains exactly what happened to me. I haven't had any wheat, grains, sugar or starches for over a year. I was a bread and pasta aholic and then I started with the cookies and pastries, completely out of control. I 've lost 90 pounds in 15 months, most of it the first 7 months. 9 months ago I developed severe constipation. X-rays showed a left sided large bowel ileus. I have trouble digesting everything from meat to vegetables because I believe my gut was severly damaged. I do not absorb nutrients because I lost a lot of muscle mass in my weight loss even though I did resistance training and 25-30% of my diet was protein, good protein, rib eyes, eggs and whey protein. I am 250 lbs but still 40% body fat. I was 14% body fat in the mid 80s when they stated doing those tests. Better late than never. But I'm not out of the woods yet. I still have 80 pounds of fat to lose and at least 10-15 pounds of muscle to gain. Fasting is very difficult because I'm so insulin resistant. My sleep is highly disturbed the last 5 years, but I slept like a baby before that. But my A1c is down to 5.0 from 5.7 and I'm hoping for more improvement though I am stalled in my weight loss. I may go to full ground beef carnivore soon to see if that helps.

I am so happy to have viewed this video today!!! I have a different reaction when I eat wheat, plus a lot of more common ones. I literally feel as though I am drugged! It takes hours for this effect to wear off. I fall asleep and can not wake up. Plus, I get breakouts on my face and joint pain that lasts days. A positive ANA, which I think is brought on by this possibly too. Labs are normal, including glucose and lipids, except inflammation markers are sometimes high. I'm definitely overweight and carry most in my belly!!!! Go figure. This weekend all wheat goes in the garbage! Ty so much!!

@@devendersehrawat2947 your guts need to heal before they can digest more. Id recommemd vegan keto if its an ethical choice but i dont recommend vegan at all as its not nutrient dense and missing a lot of nutrients. But certainly you dont need a lot of meat. Can you tolerate eggs or fish, or even cheese? Some people cant tolerate dairy, some cant tolerate nuts, some cant tolerate certain vegetables. But gut healing takes a while and unfortunately difestion suffers but says more about your previous diet than the meat itself. Leaky gut is real and activates the immune system.

Can you comment on the "sourdough" bread craze? For instance, there is an infodemic of misinformation out there right now that fermented sourdough (the homemade kind that takes 48-72 hours to make) somehow bypasses all the negative aspects of wheat. Is that true? Does home-made sourdough bread still cause inflammation? Again for clarification, I am specifically referring to the homemade sourdough bread where a person soaks the wheat with water overnight first, then adds a starter of some kind the next day, then bakes on the third day.

It MUST be organic or at least toxin free especially glyphosate and GMO free otherwise it still should be avoided. These are the real reason thats causing the issues along with the fact that the grains are not properly prepared soaked fermented like healthy sourdough etc. Read EAT WHEAT book and especially Natasha Campbell’s superb book GUT and PHYSIOLOGY SYNDROME second edition book. Another expert to follow is Stephanie Seneff on here or search online. Remember its the toxins and the way its grown and prepared thats the problem here. I'm no advocate for any particular diet, but I do enjoy watching all points of view. In Australia, Weet-Bix (obviously a wheat heavy cereal) has been my defacto standard breakfast for decades. Even being my only food source in an average day at one point in time. I'm also known to be a big carb eater, breads, pastas etc.. I don't claim perfect health. I get tired a lot, but I also live an exhausting 24/7 lifestyle. However, at age 35, all organs are intact, all teeth intact, I eat anything, my weight is right in healthy range and I can run and chin-up better than most ppl Id find a decade younger than me. So like all diet advocates, the carnivore, veganism and all other extremes, I'd take all this advice with a grain of salt. A lot of this seems to cone down to the individual, and how their body manages food. At the end of the day, it seems no food is perfect or 'correct' for us. It's a matter of fueling your body with whatever is best available

@Human Being You missed my entire point. I didn't say wheat was healthy. I said I've eaten it and my health and well being out-does a lot of younger ppl. I'm just a single case study. Mikaela peterson, a famous carnivore advocate got her whole family on red meat. Awesome results, but currently mother had a critical rare cancer, and father got chronic depression. Just about everyone claiming specific diets all seem to inevitably suffer issues, and there's a lot of factors involved (not just diet). It doesn't appear at all, that there is a correct diet for us. There is no absolute, right and safe food. Every individual responds differently to all food sources. It's down to the individual to figure out what suits them. It's not right or wrong food It's pro's and cons of food

Dr. Davis, I really appreciate the insight you lend on this fascinating subject. I do though, have a question regarding all of this. I recall coming across an article referenced by some studies; presented in a nutritional supplement flyer years ago which stated this comment: That the reason gluten is such a problem nowadays in it's adverse physiological effects is that when they started genetically modifying wheat in the early 70's and through subsequent decades , permeating conventional grain farming practice; the gluten content of the GMO grain was 4 to 500% higher than the previously grown species of wheat. Hence, the aggravating effects of this bastardized protein began to multiply with far greater intensity. It seemed to make sense to me, being a child and teen in the 60's and 70's; as I could eat even white bread in huge quantities and never suffer any adverse effects, weight gain, etc. Does that explanation fit any science you have come across? I'm now 61 yrs old, gained 20 lbs over the last 18 months, and despite eating mostly 1 meal a day, sometimes 2 small meals, exercising regularly, supplementing with high quality vitamins and minerals, etc. etc., I can't lose a frickin' pound and I have chronic low back and general joint pain throughout my body! I don't eat much of grains throughout the week, but a little here and there only. Could I be experiencing the negative effects of wheat and other grains even when eating these in moderation? Thank-you for your comments if you get a chance!
