I think that my Gen2 is the best looking. The cyclopes front end of the Gen3 has been improved with the latest version but, I still prefer the second generation. With the Gen2 the fueling / snatchy throttle of the first generation had been resolved and there was an improvement to the front fork but I agree that the suspension is still a little floaty. I played with the rear preload which helped a little. Then again if you look at it as a less extreme naked the Gen2 is still a lot of fun. The (up-only) quickshifter works very well if adjusted properly and the CP3 engine is one of the best out there. The seat on the earlier models is awful but can be replaced with a comfort seat (if manufacturers make a comfort seat why do they offer the naff version?) Hope my comments at least help anyone looking at a used Gen 2...

Upgraded to the new 2024 MT-09 SP from a gen 1 MT-07. The bike is so much fun to ride with it feeling planted and smooth, and that CP3 engine sound projecting out of the acoustics is a sensation to listen to.

This is a really good bike indeed. And a good example of why you should never go test ride new bikes at the dealers. I rode a new MT-09 AMT this weekend at it was a cool experience. It's the first time I've been able to ride a sports naked. I'm 6´8" or 203cm and quite heavy, so I've mostly ridden cruisers and ADV. But the most amazing thing this thing gave me was that the bike almost disappeared under me. Since the front is super short, I didn't see any part of the bike in my field of view, and the handling and responsiveness of the suspension was so intuitive. It actually felt like I was flying for real. Really cool feeling. And now I need a MT-09 in my life...

This new MT 09 really doesn't stop surprising, and my 09 is a normal stock version and is still running, with 600 km on the clock, I decided to do a little test, very quickly. 30 to 40 sg,. and I reached 250 km/h on the panel. The strength of this cp3 is really impressive,..it seems that some limit it earlier and others I don't even know if it limits it,,. or not in this way of cutting, as in previous versions and in this test, I didn't take it to the redline, nor was that my interest, but I believe it should be close to the maximum. although the engine is still very new, and over time it can improve its performance!

@exothermal.sprocket2 ай бұрын
There's some coarseness buzz inherent from a triple, but keep in mind, all OEM bikes have more buzz than is originally designed because emissions regulations require engines to run lean, and lean operating conditions create combustion instability and vibration. This means a factory bike that has some buzz can get that buzz eliminated with a tune. That said, it's not bad enough to be a worry. No triple is as smooth as a four, but the Yamaha isn't something you cannot tolerate.

It doesn't have speakers, they are grilles for induction noise. Come on guys, expect more from you especially with such a controversial thing! This is from the MCN website! By Ben Purvis “The new MT-09’s sound is further amplified by a revised airbox featuring two newly designed air-intake ducts, which accentuate the high frequency sounds while maintaining a linear throttle response. “This sound is then emphasized, especially at higher speed and revs, by the introduction of a new acoustic amplifier grille on top of the bike, delivering the CP3’s vibrant note directly to the rider.” "There are no speakers though. Those grilles are the visible exits of a convoluted passage that leads directly to an opening in the top of the airbox, allowing the noise from the intake to be channeled out, directing it straight up through the grilles towards the rider without increasing outright volume."
