For coil split mod you are connecting new wires to the actual black connected wires on each humbuckers - not to the white as demonstrated in the video here • Ten Squier Bullet Must... , colour scheme as indicated in the diagram pic is the correct one, sorry for the confusion there.

Did this mod just last night. Had a little fun with the wiring, ( probably me reading diagram wrong) but got it sorted out, and if WORKS! Added the kill switch at the same time. Awesome!

I changed the tone pot to 550K in my HH along with the 47mf capacitor and that gave me the brightness of a telecaster I was looking for running it off my Fender Deluxe amp. A $8 upgrade and well worth it!

Stupid talk back in the mouth. It's really possible to lose the low end with these rates, but it requires absolutely clumsy soldering! I'm not even going to gripe about the extraterrestrial denominations.

Hi, thank you very much for your detailed explanations, I bookmarked this video to do the main coil-spit mod later. I have the same guitar as my first one as I'm starting to learn guitar at 45!. I actually live in CZ too but I'm from Spain, I still don't write so well czech (speaking it''s fine). I'm obviously no expert but for 3190 Kc I think it's great for the price. It sounds very open and "earthy" and it's accoustically resonant. I want also do the split to have more single coil tones too. Děkuji!

Even the subject of metal pickup covers is a preference. I like the look but popular opinion going back to the original PAF humbuckers of the late 50's removing the cover allowed more tone. Solid logic but again who knows..

@@adosrealdeal7036 Sorry, unlikely. The whole neck is strongly yellower than the original, so some drops of oil also got on the fretboard? I'm sorry, but you need something a lot more powerful than lemon oil to tone Indian laurel! For example, dark yellow colored tru oil?

Hi, well given you have all the tools, components and materials ready I would think 24 hours of work so 2 to 3 days, given that you will start with neck so it can dry properly after spraying it etc.

Is it okay to use any 3 position DPDT switch? I'm planning to use a DPDT slide or rocker switch on-off-on. BTW on the 2022 Bullet Mustang (11 pickguard holes) The outer coils have screws are North and the inner coils have flat pole pieces. So the 2022 Mustang has North-South South -North pickup configuration.

I think you need to stick to a "ON-OFF-ON" one.

@@Luckyrider1958 on-off-on could be a toggle or slide. I tried the slide it works but everytime i put the pickguard back it touches the shielding and becomes grounded. Will just use push push/ push-pull instead

On your diagram, the photo shows the black wires connected to the middle slot of the three-way switch within the video 25:40 you show the white wires connected to the three-way switch. Please advise?

What is the point of discussing string gauge on a shortened scale instrument? Pretty short ones like the balalaika and mandolin use gauge 012, so what?

While the entire idea and and video is very good my ears say no. Not on this guitar and the coil split but my ears being at fault. I have many higher priced guitars with coil split and other special electronics. My ears which are the only ones I can use just don't seem to find it worth the effort. I can hear its different but not of value to my hearing. I have a unsupported theory that hearing may be like vision. A color you see as the best ever may have no effect on me or others. Thankfully there is enough common acceptance of all of the above to allow "standards" of acceptance. Color blind, tone deaf or who knows where in between normal is.
