Thank you so much for watching! As for those sheets, which I call "carrier sheets," I no longer store my mats with those. I just found it to be a little too challenging to pull them on and off each time I wanted to use a mat. But, I do love those sheets for purposes of masking an area that I'm stenciling, or stamping, so I do keep those sheets.

You're welcome! Don't stress. There are so many options for storing, as they don't take up a big footprint. By the way, over time I have changed the way that I store these. I don't store them with the "carrier sheets" anymore, as I found that it would take too long to struggle peeling them off. It's much easier for me to now store them between two sheets of copy paper, or scrap paper.

Hi Allison! Thanks for such a comprehensive video on the grip mats! I am thrilled that Waffle Flower released these and can see how much thought they put into them. I’m so happy to give up tape by using mine! Tape is great for so many needs in my craft room but it gets pricey. Likewise it’s great to be able to use my cloth towels to clean with, because paper towels are not cost effective. I only purchased one mat and the guides ~ so I can see if I want more of them. I plan to be making cards for a long time and won’t be covered up in paper towels or tape, YAY! Joan

Love your vid and tut!! Being the Grip mat is made from same material as our photopolymere stamps are, WHY didn't the Grip mat STAIN, using the Red dye? Thank you
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and leaving a comment! You may be referring to when I used the popcorn stencils and the red ink? That didn't stain the mat because it was Distress Oxide ink. Because Oxides are water reactive, you're able to just use a wet cloth to wipe off the mat, and it shouldn't stain. Dye inks are totally different - those will stain the mats. But, like our clear stamps, the mat will still work perfectly fine if it gets stained!

@@allisonfrazier I have large grouped layering stamps that I think are BEAUTIFUL, but I don't like using. The stamps tend to lift the paper no matter how many magnets I use. This may make using them more fun. I bought stamp and die sets and probably spent about $350. Yes, I was crazy. They are GORGEOUS, and if a grip mat made them easier to use, I would be beyond thrilled. I'm a prolific card maker, and I love this hobby, but I also see on an angle so I have issues lining things up.

Any idea if the 6 x 6 would work on my Tim Holtz stamp platform since it does not have a spring hinge like the Misti? Thank you for the demo.
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
I hadn't even thought about Tim's platform! But I have his platform, and I just tested it out. I first put the 6x6 in there, but there was a lot of room left. So, I put the 8x8 grip mat in there, and it fit perfectly! If you're talking about the full size platform, which is what I just tested it in, the measurements on that are 8.5"x8.5". So either one of those grip mats would work. So would the other sizes, since the 8x8 is the largest. I put the grip mat in, put a scrap piece of paper on the mat, flipped the lid of the platform as if I was going to stamp a rubber stamp, and I was able to get a great stamping with a clear stamp!

I wonder if you can do some of the same things with your jelly plate?
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
I don't think a gel press and the grip mats are interchangeable. A lot of people are wondering that. Maybe there is some overlap, but the gel press is much more squishy. The gel press may do what my #11 tip was - holding die cuts in place so you can glue/stack. I'm not sure stenciling on a gel press would work well due to the fact that it's not firm enough. And definitely couldn't stamp with it. It's an interesting thought - I'm sure someone will figure out if there are overlaps.

@helenberry69669 ай бұрын
I just watched your video and was so impressed by all that you can use these Grip Mats and Grid mats for. My one question...it looks like things stick to your Grid Mat but nothing sticks to my mine when I put on top of my Grip Mat. I ended up trimming off the edges of the Grid Mat to make it smaller than the Grip Mat and then put it under the Grip Mat so the Grip mat would stick to the Misti.What did I do wrong?
@allisonfrazier9 ай бұрын
You're referring to the clear guides, of which there are 2 that come with the grip mats? I actually don't even use mine. When I put my grip mat into my MISTI (or even on top of my craft mat), I can see through to the guidelines on the MISTI, so I just don't find the need for that guide/grid. I think some people leave it on the bottom of their Grip Mat so that they can move it around in their MISTI, but I prefer to have my mat "grip" to the bottom of the MISTI and not move. This video was made when I first started playing with these mats, so my use and even storage of them has evolved. One thing that has not evolved - I still love these grip mats and use them almost every time I craft. To answer one of your questions, though: Nothing sticks to those clear guides, other than the grip mat itself. Those are just basically sheets of acetate.
@radamaerltp Жыл бұрын
thank you for this video, Allison. I just ordered the bundle. Having tried all the other grip mats out there, these really seem to address all the issues. I especially like the fact that they are easy to clean. I've ruined a few brutus monroe mats trying to clean them, even following the instructions and the special cleaner. The coated ones just don't work for me.
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching and commenting. The cleaning factor is huge, for sure. I have other "sticky" mats, too, and I am always afraid to even try cleaning them. They still are useful to me when I know I'm not going to get them all inked up. But, not having to worry about it is key. I hope you enjoy your mats!

Well, wouldn't you know it, more things that seem to be indispensable. Even to long-time stampers! They all look like great tools to cut down on the amount of tape we all use. I use tons of double-sided tape to stick my red rubber to acrylic blocks. Thank you so much for a great video! I am wondering how thick the grip mats are since they fit into the misti. Do the stencils curl after removing them from the mats like paper does when removing from the Cricut mats?
@allisonfrazier8 ай бұрын
No, I have not had that problem at all.

I haven’t bought any of the sticky mats on the market except for the ones used for the cricut machine (which I don’t own. ) I did try to get my hands on the Tim Holtz Mat, but was never successful. It was always sold out. Thank you for this demonstration, you’ve sold me on this collection. Don’t think I need them all, but will probably try to order a few. I’m thinking they may even hold the ink like the ink stands on the market (?). Worth a try. 😆Thank you for this video. I’m also wondering now if this is anything like the gel mat used for background mixed media (?) 🤔

Oh, wow! I hadn't thought about it holding inks - that's a brilliant idea that I'm going to try! If you're referring to the gel press, this is not as squishy as that. So, while I think it may be able to do something "close" to what a gel press does, I don't think it would really duplicate the results. If I were going to pick just a few of the sizes, the 6x6 would be the first one I'd get. And if you have the mini MISTI, I like the one that fits in there, too. Thank you so much for watching my video and leaving a comment.

Potrebbe essere usato come Gelli plate, inoltre consiglio di tenerlo fra 2 fogli di carta piuttosto che con la plastica così non si formano le bolle. Voi siete fortunati, chissà quando arriva in Italia e a che prezzo!!!

Thank you for watching and leaving a comment - I really appreciate it. And thank you for the tip about keeping the mats between paper instead of the plastic - I will give it a try!

Could these be used as gel press too?
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
That's an interesting idea! I'm not really sure. It's definitely not as squishy, so I'm going to guess that it probably would not give as good of a result as a traditional gel press. But now my mind is wandering with other possibilities. Thank you for the comment!

This was a great video. I have not worked with any of this stuff but it looks like something I’d really like to look into. I am a Stampin’ Up demonstrators so we don’t have a lot of this stuff but I like to try out new stuff to, so where do I order this And are there instructions when it all comes because I might not remember everything that you did in this video. Very inspiring. I am from British Columbia Canada in a small town that doesn’t have a craft store so I have to wait till I go to Kelowna to get it unless I can order it online.

Thank you for watching the video and leaving a comment! There are links in the description to my video that will take you directly to the products where you can order. There are some basic instructions on the back of the packaging, but I think once you start using it, you'll figure it out pretty quickly. It's just a great way to stamp and stencil without having to worry about magnets/tape/etc.

I don't work for Waffle Flower, so I'm not sure. I would guess that they are restocking them as quickly as they can.

mplease can you tell me how to take the grip off the grip mats mine rip my paper? I have tried detergent isacol hand sanitiser stamp cleaner Nothing work
@allisonfrazier7 ай бұрын
I have never had paper rip, so I'm thinking that maybe you're using thinner paper? If you're talking about the grip being strong, then I'm assuming your grip mat is new. One way to lessen the grip is to just press down on the mat with your hands - this will take away some of the grip. And you can always make the grip stronger later on by cleaning it with water. If you're continuing to have problems, though, I do suggest contacting Waffle Flower customer service.

Hi I am so sorry you haven’t helped me one bit. I purchased the 6.5 by 8.5 what is the point of it? Are you saying you have to purchase all the other items for these plastic to work? Don’t know how these sheets work? Please explain. Thanks
@allisonfrazier11 ай бұрын
You don't need to purchase anything more than just the one mat for it to work. I'm not sure if you're referring to the mat itself or the clear sheets that it comes packaged with? The sheets have to be removed from the grip mat in order for it to work.
@lynnesachs233011 ай бұрын
Hello I did purchase one package. It has different sheets and a clear Matt. I don’t understand how to use it? I don’t have a misti .although I do have a stampin up one it could be the size of a misti but even so . Still don’t get it. I thought it was supposed to help with card size. Thank you

I am sorry. If you have already watched my video and/or other people's videos about the Waffle Flower grip mats, and you still don't understand what they're used for, then I would suggest you contact whoever you bought them from.

What is the yellow mat holding your ink pad can you send me the link to buy it? Do you think a clear grip mat that you are showing on this video would do the same thing as that yellow mat to hold my ink pad in place?
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
Sorry, I thought that I had included a link to that in my description, but I must have forgotten. That is the "Pawsitively Everything Tool" from Simon Says Stamp. Here is a link, but they also come in just about every other color, too: shrsl.com/41nud Yes, ink pads stick to the grip mat, too! And I do actually do that sometimes. I do find that I can leave my "everything" tool out on my desk at all times, though, without worrying about stuff sticking to it, so it is very convenient. It can also hold a glass of water or coffee cup! Or lots of other things :-)

Do you know when these will be in stock to buy?
@allisonfrazier Жыл бұрын
That, I don't know. I expect that the response to these was pretty overwhelming! I know that Waffle Flower is accepting pre-orders, so the best way to get them (if you're interested) is to do that. That way, you wouldn't miss out on the second round when they restock.
