Well apparently this is considered emotionless for the chinese. Its why their acting looks fake and overdone to the rest of the world. They cant pick up on emotions as well as we can. Its due to their language. Like literally the rest of the world uses tones for emotional inflection and empasis. Chinese use tones for words, not emotions. So we can say yes in tons of tones. Hopeless yes. Sad yes. Angry yes. Surprised yes. We can empasize words with tones. Mandarin and canto cant do that. They use puns and poetry to mean out of tbis world wacky things. Empasis is done by repeating the word twice. So chinese drama does this to let you know how evil someone is. Its overkill but in reality...shes supposed to sound and act sweet.
