I would say it might have something to do with Xianyun hitting the top but it usually does its shield phase right at the start so I'm just as clueless lol.

That was also my thought initially. So i assume it has something to do with Distance and Aggro (like Trio Kenki does with their Ranged Attacks) I tried redoing everything following the exact same steps and tried going as far before it begins locking into you but it still does the Shield Phase lol I really coping there's a way to make it do this like how we have cheese to group Trio Kenki immediately.

Papilla is already transforming before Xianyun takes the field so that may not be the case.

This also happened to me once, can't seem to replicate it again even by using same strats tho. Perhaps this is just one time occassion / rare bug considering Papilla Variant is a tweaked version of its overworld counterpart.

I'm starting to believe that might be the case. Tho i won't stop coping and hope there is an explanation to Cheese the AI, so i can at least have fun a bit with this Abyss lol

@@cavernman4739Totally Understandable tbh. Papilla alone already scuff the number of teams can be used for Second Half more than the entirety of this Abyss combined.

i came accross a video mentioning this can happen occasionally when you play on potato device with inconsistent performance / framerate but looking at how this happen with you and your game being smooth i have my doubt now

Interesting. Though my PC is certainly not strong, i believe it's not on Potato level either, at least for Genshin lol Considering it can still run Genshin at constant 60FPS at 1080p even on the Overworld

Seeing your ping i assume some short time high ping like time out ? I didn't sure much but enemy like abyss mage didnt release their shield when we kinda lagging and we could kill them. But probably not that case since this one just goes to mimic phase which not delaying the shield phase

It's most likely not Xianyun because Papilla is already begin transforming before I swap to Xianyun.

Does the boss always consistently do the shield phase? Because in rhe overworld, sometimes when i fight the boss, the shield phase is never triggered. Maybe the same thing in abyss? Or maybe it has something to do with your distance with the boss?

For the Abyss variant, yes. Abyss Bosses generally have tweaked moveset so it differs from their overworld counterpart (example Aeonblight usually begins on the Ground in Overworld but immediately Fly in Abyss)

Are EM Sands still better than ATK Sands if Diluc can't trigger Vape with every single hit but still most hits are Vape?

It's only better if Diluc is only doing EN1x3 Q per rotation once and He is running Atk Wep + C0 Kazuha / Xilonen with no EM Buffer. Since EM Sand mainly offer better frontload DPS but the DPS in longer Combo is pretty much the same if not worse than Atk Sand, relative to Diluc field time, number of Hits he did, and how much EM he have from Buff. This is the case with pretty much every Vape/ Melt Teams, except Furina, XQ, by Extension Rosaria variant since Diluc will need to be onfield longer doing more ICD Hits, and depend yout team Uptime, Diluc will be doing extended Combo nonetheless to funnel you Team energy.

@@cavernman4739 Interesting, thanks. I've noticed that Diluc with WGS in XY Benny Furina team gives better damage with EM sands somehow, not too much of a difference, but still

@@jafaroffmusic7876I though you were referring to Traditional since you mentioned non Vape hits knowing Plunge doesn't have ICD 😅 EM will always does better in XY like C0 Kazuha does regardless of Teams, more so with non EM Wep for obvious reason.
