The thought of having to scan, color, and keep track of all those frames made my brain leak out of my ear. Major respect for Gainax after watching this. I wish other shows had tours like this

That layer process of kamina pointing up towards the outside was fucking dope. Props to all the artists/animators making all this look hype as shit
These have to be the most hilariously awful auto-generated and translated closed captions I've ever read.

they dont even use animation boxes just basic light table i made my walk version try to pencil test is soon learned lot through this studio
@tasogarerubica6 жыл бұрын
Actually that's a good catch. Western animator's work station is a bit more advanced than the typical Japanese workstation. Where the light table used in western style is angled similarly to a drafts table allowing for better posture. While the Japanese workstation resembling a cubical with a level desk, with a light box installed into the table or a small light table.

@@FLForrest yep it was taken down on youtube, shows as "unavailable" in my playlist. I'm not sure if I archived it, ask me again at the end of October. However don't obsess over it. It was mostly a marketing video like "oyah guys, whatcha doing heeere?"
@FLForrest28 күн бұрын
@@VADemon I see. I was trying to see if I could get any insight into the production process cuz I had an assignment involving it, but I handled it somehow. I'm somewhat curious anyway, but it is what it is. Thanks for the info 👍
@VADemon28 күн бұрын
@@FLForrest The only thing about the production process in there that I can remember (apart from rarely showing computer screens at all) was that a senior artist/animator would draw some "keyframe" positions of characters on paper and the job of junior animators was to complete the frames in between the next keyframe. Like walking, they'd draw a couple frames of leg movement on their own until the next keyframe assignment.

Guillermo V. Would there be a point for the western world to learn Japanese? From I've heard, Japanese is hard because of the 2500常用漢字 necessary to read a book. Which personally isn't hard.
