Loved the vid. Your camera work and sound are very good and nice music, not head banging music some use. Love the sound of the rod "singing" that is true music. WELL DONE AGAIN !!!

Thanks so much Craig! I want to target some carp on video this year and I CAN’T WAIT to capture the wild sounds on video. It’s better than a drag on a reel!

@@FlickyFlies I haven't targeted Carp and I do fish for them euro style. I have caught cat fish and that was a ride.

Thanks man!! Some genuinely nice fish in this river. These were about average size, too! Lost a couple that were much bigger. Need to get back here and get some redemption :) Thanks for watching dude!

Always enjoy your videos thank you! But, more so, I enjoy how much you enjoy fishing!!! You display that on all your videos which makes them that much more enjoyable. I’m new to Tenkara and look forward to learning more from watching you. Thanks

That’s so cool! Thanks for the kind comment, I look forward to having you along for the journey! So much to learn about tenkara / fixed line fishing.

Thanks for the great video! Your cinematography is consistently ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Like you, I relish the chance to pull out my keiryu rod when conditions allow it.

Thanks as always Gary! Glad you liked this one! I may have asked and forgotten, which Keiryu rod(s) do you use?
@tenkaraintheiowadriftless2 жыл бұрын
@@FlickyFlies I own just one -- the Suntech Keiryu Sawanobori 53. I like its light weight, the 32 penny rating, and the fact it can be casted with one hand without my arm wearing out too fast.

Another amazing video! I’m surprised there weren’t any other fishermen in the area being so close to the road! Absolutely beautiful browns and rainbows.
@FlickyFlies2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Steve! There were a decent amount of fishermen in the area but the river is big enough to give everyone some space, thankfully!

I reaally enjoy your videos, thank you for your efforts. If you don't mind me making a suggestion: can you do a video covering the fishing gear you use and the thought process behind it? Have a nice day!
@FlickyFlies2 жыл бұрын
That's a great idea! I get really caught up in the adventure and being outside in nature, so those tend to be the kind of videos I like to make most, but I'll try to make a point of doing something like that sometime :)

@@FlickyFlies Thank you for the reply! Just would love to learn about your setup. Perhaps others well :D Just stay true to what you like doing, only an idea ;)

I had the great opportunity to live and work in Colorado in the mid-1990’s - and I loved the “secret season”! It’s especially satisfying to see those gorgeous rainbows you landed. During the mid- to late 1990’s there was considerable fear that whirling disease would wipe out all wild rainbow stocks. Another super video - many, many thanks!

Thank you Michael! I know! It's so wonderful that these fish are thriving. Rainbows are always a blast ... these ones fought really well, and they can be so beautiful. Thanks for dropping by!

Fishing snowmelt is quite the excursion
@FlickyFlies2 жыл бұрын
It is! These conditions were before snow melt began, still cold up in our mountains! I need to get better at fishing real snowmelt ... one of my goals this season. Thanks for watching.

Really nice. Thanks for the peace. And that is a great Colorado river! I’d love some shots of what’s happening in the water with your rig etc😊would I have to buy you a new camera for that? Cheers

Thank you for watching Jane! Interesting idea for sure! I think that might be pretty hard to pull off, but it would definitely be cool. I do want to do some more underwater release shots / shots of fish feeding / schooled up, but need to upgrade my GoPro before I start to mess with that much more.

what causes the rod to sing?
@FlickyFlies Жыл бұрын
I believe it's like a string instrument, essentially. The level line that goes from my rod tip down to the tippet and eventually the fish gets pulled very tight under the strain of larger fish and then vibrates as the water courses over it, making it sing like a violin. If you haven't seen some of my carp videos, check out this one for some big time rod singing action: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKnRmaaIhtdnkNk
