I was going to school in Chapel Hill in 1972/3 and a friend loaned me all his "Beach Music" vinyl records, and I had an extended session where I copied them to several cassette tapes. A bunch of Motown hits. Songs we grew up on, listening to WMBL in Morehead City, NC and that became synonymous with our beach memories. The Drifters, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Jerry Butler, and "The Fat Boy" Billy Steward, "Sitting in the Park." Was "Hector's" there with their delicious late nite egg rolls?

One of the greatest drum tracks in Pop Music history! ... another great track by master drummer Bernard Purdie. ...my teacher.
@porcaro4ever4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely man! Bernard's feel and groove is just butter! I am reading Jeff Porcaro's bio book and in it Keltner talks about his close bond with Jeff. He said one day when Jeff was about 17 they were in his car and he put on this tune for Jeff to dig and he just flipped out. With that being said we all know the rest LOL!
