Really feeling validated once again with my Yonex V Core 95 purchase. On the verge of. 4.5 player who likes to hit big. Mostly playing at high altitude (7k feet) so it's been a struggle with hitting the ball long. It really can affect my confidence some days. But the 95 is so easy to whip around that I am able to soften it up and hit more spin and keep it in the court. I will say, I went back to Ohio for a wedding and was able to sneak off and play with my best bud who is a very solid 4.5. I ended up having one of the best tennis days of my life. At sea level with the 95 I was able to really swing through the ball. We have some really awesome 10+ shot rallies and it felt great. Trying a bit higher tension to see if adding a little more control helps now that I am once again back at elevation.

@@HectorGarcia-nb2ld In what way for you? In my opinion, it's not a bad frame, just does not suit my game style and preferences at all. I currently use both versions of the pro staff v14 and I love the feel and control of these rackets. I am still using the Yonex vcore 95sv. A played with a prince 110 head for about five years, tried a Yonex 97 head, before moving to this rac. With the age factor (69) 64 at the time of purchase, a weird disease that causes rhabdo, and tons of injuries; I thought it would make sense to get a rac that wasn't too heavy and could move through the air easier. The negative side of that would be not enough volume to make up for mis hits. Although I keep trying to add more spin, people in my era were flatball hitters and so am I. I am comfortable all over the court with this rac. I made it up to 4.0 from 3.5 in my early 50s, but could train and still can at a much higher rate. I actually used to hit with players at a NAIA college team that had a pipeline of mostly international high-level players. One of the few American players is now a popular KZbinr. My main problem is figuring out string and string tension. I've also done a ton of weight and balance alterations. People my age normally hit with a large head. I ain't going to do it. I got excited when you got to the Yonex 95. Although it's not this particular rac I still could identify. The rac is good for an old, fat, brokedown rascal like me and I'm going to take it to my grave..☠️😳😁

Hahaha, when I used the SV95 I always liked split tensions (cross 2lbs looser than mains). Its what Yonex recommended at the time for the isometric head, but its less popular now with Yonex being more mainstream.

Expert level players will surely like the Head Gravity Pro. Wilson Blade 18/20 surely has potential way above the PS. It needs some lead however, but expert level players should have no problem figuring that out. And I can remember a Tecnifibre with 18/19 Pattern that is quite awesome as well, but needs a firm hand to bring it to its ful potential. And not to forget the Yonex Regna, which offers a quite unique balance of everything, even feel is sensational due to no VDM built in.

Yonex Ezone 98 Tour (2020 especially) = THE best for advanced players. You can hit bombs on serve with amazing accuracy. Topspin is more than decent but works extremely well on flat shot. Control and precision is up there thanks to the dense 16x19 string pattern + the 98sq inch head size. Not the most manoeuverable though, but can be fixed by adding weight in the handle.

Ezone 98 Tour is for "genuinely advanced" players / professional players. If you do not have very solid tennis strokes, tennis form and tennis footwork, just do not waste your money to purchase it. ATP professionals will be more than happy to use this racquet (even just in stock form) if they do not bring their own racquets (on vacation) but want to play some tennis in a resort. To make it a 1st class weapon, careful/precise handle weighting is needed (in accordance with the player's swing style for different strokes). I still do not understand why Yonex makes it 4pts HL (strung). Modification is necessary for competitive play. Why not design it as READY TO USE (for both practice and competition) ?

Hi, thanks for the video! I would like to ask for your advice. I would like to buy a new racket as I unfortunately broke my old one (Gravity Pro 1st generation). I am looking for a racket that is similar to the Gravity Pro, but if possible minimally lighter (when a game goes on for more than 2 hours I sometimes notice slight fatigue.) and gives a little more "feedback". For me, the GP always felt a bit too "muffled". My previous racquets: About 15 years ago I started with an old Fischer racket of my father from the early 90s. My first own racket was a TopSpin x95 I loved the direct feel with it. I could control the balls well with it. Babolat Pure Strike 16/19 3rd Gen. I didn't get on with it and sold it after 3 months. Couldn't control my shots with it. Head Gravity Pro: I immediately played better with it. However, I never liked this "dead" feeling. Nevertheless, I've been playing it for almost 4 years. To sum again up: So I'm looking for a racket that is as similar as possible to the Gravity in terms of the "result", but if possible slightly lighter and a little more feedback. Sorry that I can't describe it in more detail, but I don't know anything about rackets. Sorry also for my bad English Thank you very very much!! Greats from Italy

One more thing about my game. I am 1.91 m tall and weigh 108 kg. So I'm not particularly agile but still quite strong... I would describe my technique as very good, although not perfect. I have a strong first serve, but it's not consistent enough. I go to the net rather averagely often. I play a one-handed backhand and slice very often. I'll just name everything I can think of, maybe it will help to better assess me. Once again, thank you very much.

Same issue comes up hitting midcourt. When they hit rockets at me is the most responsive racket ever but when i push for an easy ball back i have to slow down my swing speed massively to stay inside and it kills my flow. My friend Simon (also on the channel sometimes) is about your weight except its mostly fat (although he tells me he's gained muscle and lost fat recently). The 2023 Pure Aero really helped him loosen up high whole body when compared to the Gravity Pro he was using before. Maybe take some videos of yourself playing and see if you notice any stiffness in the body. Sometimes when you work out that much, it can be hard to stay loose with your whole body. I even notice this if I do extra pushups one day, the next day my muscles feel all tingly and too strong which messes up my kinetic chain.

I thought for sure the ezone 98 was going to be my next frame. But after demoing it for a while I realized I don't like the extra long handle and the head shape. I am sure I could adjust but it just never felt natural to me. Despite playing with a 2006 Roddick Pure Drive forever, I found my favourite demos were the Head Prestige Pro, the Head Gravity Pro, and the Pro Staff 97. The Pro Staff wasn't even on my list - my friend got it for demo. But once I started playing with it, I felt like it encouraged everything I needed to focus on in my game. I started closing earlier and more often. Volleys were a treat. I love to swing fast and hard so I found myself sometimes having to check my swing with the Pure Drive especially with the unpredictable launch. With the Pro Staff I could really go for my shots and still feel like they would land where I wanted them. This made it easier to follow them in and I was better at putting the points away. Overall, I felt like the Pro Staff 97 encouraged me to leave the safety of the baseline to become the more all court player I wanted to be. It helped that my friend Trevor kept beating me at the baseline so really just doing anything different was helpful. 🙃 Anyway, I am a soft 4.0 player in all honesty. But I have decent mechanics and take pretty big cuts. Don't let the Pro Staff intimidate you - you might find the control is more helpful than you imagine. I would highly encourage anyone in the intermediate+ camp to demo this racquet because it encouraged modern players to do more of the stuff they probably avoid: coming to the net and ending the point earlier.

Brooo just started using the rf97 pro staff and I feel the same way. I have both. The heavier one helps me play better but in general both pro staffs made me feel like I want to rush the net and the volleying is the best for any frame I ever used. The heavier one is Very stable and since I don’t have the fastest swing speed my arm doesn’t get as tired but I can still swing hard and get amazing feel with the ball staying it. I have been a mostly happy Extreme Tour user for the last couple of years but recently switched back to my Gravity Pro after stringing it with Velocity in the crosses (and Lynx Tour mains). My ET just got unweildy with all the lead I had to add for stability. And balls would still die at the out of the sweet spot. The Gravity with Velocity has cured the stability and sweet spot issue (and easier serving) while keeping very nice control, but at the cost of high weight, lack of maneuverability, and less spin. What would you recommend as an alternative?

It should decrease swingspeed (or have no effect). The only way I can see it increasing swingspeed (or more specifically, tip speed) is if the new weight distribution caused you to extend your contact point further from your body.

Here’s a novel idea. Why not develop spin control and power on your own as opposed to getting it from a racket. As a sport you are supposed to produce the skill yourself and not use an artificial means. This is the problem with modern tennis and the minds that have been brainwashed. It’s the video game generation where your not really throwing a football it’s a computer simulation. Therefore your not a professional QB. Tennis doesn’t get it. The racket should not be there to play the game for you. If you have to use artificial means to hit the ball and you require so much from a racket, well your really just playing nothing more than a video game.

I know the RF97 is not coming in a V14 paint job and it is maybe not being contnued. For the 5.0+ all court player, I think it offers more than the standard PS97. The extra weight helps the RF97 to create that truly heavy ball when struck cleanly. I agree with this video completely about the other frames mentioned would work also at higher levels. I am excited to see the video of suggested frames for counter punchers.
