Nice video, would love to try, only issue is the cosmetics, I dislike "whte" rackets. TF305 18x20 amd Prince ATS Textreme Tour 98 (both also foam filled) BUT all three are mostly "white". Currently using Gravity Pro 2023. Very nice with Gut/Poly hybrid. Beside the racket, strings have a major factor on the racket. So you may have find the holy grail but need to combine with the best fit string AND tension (that another major factor). Racket, strings and tension.

Great review. I have come back to tennis after many years off. I am a 5.0 to 5.5 USTA rated. I played many tournaments in my younger years. I am a Borg and McEnroe era. I am essentially an attack player. Played lots of doubles and mixed doubles. Serve and volley is a big part of my game. Previously I used the Dunlop Revalation, yes a very old racquet now but like McEnroe it was a good racquet for my game. Looking to change to a newer racquet and the racquets are so foreign to what I am used to. I thought I would try a Gravity Pro but your review of The Whiteout has caused me to think maybe this would be the racquet for my game. I am not a forever rally guy from the baseline. I like to create my points and to piece shots together to create an exciting string of points. I need a racquet with good feel because my best shots are the ones I create. Agassi's description of tennis as being a minic of life is spot on.

I think you should consider this Whiteout, the Prostaff 97 and the Head Prestige Tour (95). All medium stiff and very predictable but with the power of a more modern racquet.

I have seen several reviews of the Whiteout and they all said essentially that it is a very good racquet. One review described it as the jack of all trades. That is sort of my game. I like playing at the net but I can also stay back when it is necessary. Another review said that the racquet was good with returning serves whether it is blocking back a hard serve or hitting out on a second serve. I will see if I can demo all of the racquets which you recommended. Thank you for your input. Love your channel @@TennCom

If you lack feel then get rid of the vibro-dampener and get rid of the soft base/replacement grips and put on a leather grip and maybe attach a those smalls christmas bells for the jule tide log to 3,12 and 9 and butt cap. Personally I do not need any feel playing tennis...like I dont need to feel all the bumps in the road when I drive a car on the road. I dont run barefoot either but put on very air cushioned and foam softy running shoes. The training makes the difference not the feel. What you need is your eyes on the ball.

Amazing video Beckett! I was quite impressed with your reflective and philosophical musings on both this racquet and your journey to get to it. Your passion for the sport and what you do shines through here more than any video on the subject I can recall. Thank you. Beyond that, I too have discovered the Solinco Whiteout 18x20, however, in the XTD version, and have made the with from my Yonex Ezone 100 (2022). I feel EXACTLY like you do. This is a very special racquet and offers a rare and balanced blend of power, feel, control, and spin. Like you, I was enthralled with it nearly the instant I hit my first ball with it. Thank you for praising this very deserving racquet and doing this review so more players are aware of it and might give it a try that would have likely overlooked the Whiteout in favor of something by the larger more noted brands. Kudos to you - and to Solinco!

Hey Beckett, so yeah, I ditched my 2 vcore 98 2023s as well, for a pro staff v14. Coming from my racquet of choice during collegiate years, the k factor six one 90, I started having a love-hate relationship with modern frames. So far, I'm happy with this and it feels quite like home again. Then again, I kinda want to try out the whiteout.

I think the comments on string munching are directed more towards the 16x19. The 16x19 is as open as the 2019 Pure Aero so there's a lot for string movement. The 18x20 in this one plays like the 16x19 in the Extreme Tour and Ezone 98 so I haven't had any durability issues.

@jamespe925
@jamespe925 Жыл бұрын
I switched from your current racquet to the 16/19 xtd because I was so fed up with spaying balls too long, lack of control and too much power. I still get amazing spin with my whiteout with so much more control and feel. I can slice really well with it and keep the ball low, which I could never do with my pure aero.
@TennCom
@TennCom Жыл бұрын
To me, they aren't super comparable to me because the swingweight on the TFIGHT is so much higher. If you can swing it, you'll get way way more ball speed and spin out of the TFIGHT. The bad thing with the TFIGHT is that if you don't like how it plays stock, its very hard to modify because the SW is so high already. I was tinkering a lot with the TFIGHT because I was playing great tennis with it, but I just couldn't get a balance that worked for my game. The Radical takes customizations like a champ and its much easier to dial it in to your game.

After this video and much research on other frames it sounds like the WO 305 18x20 might be right for me. As you know it’s impossible to find a demo in Canada. In your opinion would you second this thought that the WO 305 18x20 would be a good fit for a replacement?

yes definitely. I've got an LM Radical MP as well and to me, the Whiteout feels like the spiritual successor. It is heavier for sure, so if you've been using the Rad stock, it'll be an adjustment, but if you can hit a clean ball with a stock LM Radical, I'd guess a little extra weight would be good for your game anyway.

Also, if you've tried the TF40 315 16x19, can you tell me how this compares to the whiteout?

I think you can hit a bigger ball with a stock Whiteout compared to the Speed, but the Speed is more forgiving off-centre and more comfortable. Directional control is pretty similar.

How do you think this raquet play for one handed backhand? I am one of those and currently using new vcore 95, but I loved your video about this raquet specially looking to improve the feeling of my stick. Looking the specs I see the balance is more head heavy than other options and this usually makes me play worse for my backhand. Thanks a lot, great content! 👏🏻

Its tough because I don't have a 1 hander, but my gut reaction was the same as yours, concerned about the higher balance point. Can be easily fixed with the weight control modules which add either 5g or 10g to the buttcap just by replacing the trap door

Its not that comfortable. It doesn't give me issues. I'm not really prone to them, I grew up playing with an Aero Pro Drive strung between 53-60lbs, depending on the day, with full poly and never had any problems. The only time I did have a problem was when I strung Paradox Pro in the Whiteouts which caused me to make a technique change which then caused pain.

I’m trying the new vcore 95. I like it and playing well with it. So, how does the whiteout compare? I’m a baseliner that likes to rip the ball with topspin. And use a one handed backhand. Which one is better for that? How do they compare in comfort? And did you try the whiteout 16 x 19? I was going to try also the vcore pro 97 but don’t know if it suits my game. Though it has nice feel.

Switched to the Whiteout 18x20 earlier this year; got the standard and XTD and still deciding between the 2. Totally agree regarding the balance of feel, power spin. Went from a “soulless” Pure Strike 16x19, never really clicked with the Blade 18x20, and have finally found something that fits me and my game. There aren’t many (any?) other racquets that have a thin maneuverable beam with this much pop. Enjoy!

What do u find are the differences between. The standard and the xtd?
@Drwatcherman
@Drwatcherman Жыл бұрын
@@gnerd07 XTD better power and spin on full swings from the baseline (forehand and 2HBH), faster serve with more spin, better 1H slice BH. In general a little harder to control, more mis hits. The Whiteouts are both great on returns- standard better on block returns, chips about equal, full XTD. Standard better at the net, better at counter punching against lots of power, better at topspin 1H backhands (I’m “converting” from 1H back to 2HBH after non-dominant wrist injury). I also demoed the 16x19 standard, the launch angle was too high and unpredictable for me, but still a really nice stick. The 16x19 is really open, the 18x20 is pretty open for what it is, more pop and spin than most 18x20s I’ve hit with (blade, blade pro specifically). Hope that helps!

@@TennCom I think they messed up leaving the stock frame at only 3-5 pts headlight with the static & swing weights the frame has been coming in. Most of the other frames that are similar to this like pro staff, cx200, radical, etc either come a little lighter in static or sw making it easier to customize or already have a more headlight balance in stock form.
