Tennessee fires Jeremy Pruitt, Phillip Fulmer announces retirement

The University of Tennessee held a press conference on Monday afternoon to discuss its decision to fire Jeremy Pruitt, as well as Phillip Fulmer's decision to retire.

UT is a dumpster fire out of control.... This move was to keep UT from paying to oust Pruitt. Pruitt did not act alone in these infractions. If players were paid it wasn't with Pruitt's money. They wanted him gone and threw him under the bus then, backed over him again for good measure. Who in their right mind would want to be a coach at this cluster F#%K??

is the black cloud finally gone? Fulmer lost to 29 head coaches 19, he had a losing record against 6, he had a winning record against. Besides Stallings would any of the 6 coaches below be considered good? Coach / Fulmer's record against. Stallings AL 2-1 Sherrell MSU 5-1 Nutt ARK 5-2 Donnan GA 4-1 Shula AL 3-1 Shula would have turned the prog around. Most of the 09 team were his recruits. Not all. Most. Johnson Vdy 6-1

If Pruitt had just had a very successful season you'd look the other way. Pruitt couldn't win, so you wanted him out n you didn't want to pay. After the way Schaino was treated, what decent HC would want to go there.

Don't give up Vol nation - we went thru a very similar situation in the early 2000's - on the verge of the death penalty - unfortunately Fulmer was the "secret witness" against us - I do want TN to build a good program but you are much better off getting rid of Fulmer post haste - AL fan...he aint a "good guy" - show him the door

I would coach the team. I would take a fraction of the pay and guarantee a fired up team. No political BS, just blood, sweat, and tears with the goal of national championship next season. No rebuilding year BS. Sprints every morning before breakfast and blood for supper. It's time for winning team without the BS. Wussies weeded out on day 1.
