Shocked at how bad our line was, lance heard in particular. Shocked at the poor decisions by Nico and dropped catches from receivers, we killed ourselves with penalties but most were deserved. I hope Taylon Green is okay, i was livid when our guy put a late hit on him. But hats off to the razorbacks, you should be a 6-0 team. Dont lose faith in Sam Pittman...great coach. TN has a lot to clean up...too much. I dont think we are making the playoffs this year after that performance..but time will tell. Humbling, but here we are back to reality. Folks need to realize that.. NICO IS A RSFR and that was finally a game every young player has had. He missed every deep ball except the last one on the last drive. The are definitely an undisciplined team as well. They continue to get unnecessary penalties at crucial moments, especially when they make a big play. Overall.. they just looked unprepared the entire 1st half. The game easily could have been 17-3 Ark at halftime.. The way they started the game told me it was gonna be a long night with penalties, especially on the OLine..

Tennessee’s biggest problem that I saw was almost zero passing over the middle. No quick slants or anything. It was just wide”screens or deep balls to the outside. The problems on offense imo were mostly on play calling. Also a few back breaking penalties like the running into the kicker that led to the Arkansas first TD to make the score 14-13.

True. But on the other side, there was one drive that Tennessee had on a single busted play go for a bunch of yards. And one drive that was full of a ton of penalties. As it is often said, college football often comes down to a few key plays. If Ross hadn’t roughed the punter (which led to ARK’s first TD), if Nico hadn’t overthrown Squirrel White on that deep ball, if TN’s WRs/TEs had come down with one of those contested catches on those 4th quarter 3rd downs… we may be having a different conversation. Likewise, if Arkansas had converted in the red zone in the first half, maybe the game never would’ve been close. This season has been a bloodbath for top 10 teams, and this was a typical trap game for TN: coming off an emotional win over OU, riding their own hype, looking ahead to Florida and Alabama and Georgia, playing in a hostile road environment against a QB who was dropping dimes left and right. I’m not selling my Tennessee stock just yet, but that offense needs to rethink its approach and start playing to win the game, not just manage it and let the defense do all the heavy lifting.

@flyingblind56773 ай бұрын
@@Zaymontepenalties are what lost you the game? lol maybe it was just a young quarterback in a tough environment against a great defense. Your second touchdown drive was aided by 30 free yards. Sure, false starts don’t help, but that’s what happens when the O line can’t hear sometimes. Arkansas had a false start on the first drive that pushed them back from the goal line. They should’ve had a touchdown then. Arkansas also missed a field goal and came up just short on 2 fourth downs in scoring range. If we’re playing the what if game, Tennessee was lucky this game was even close in the first half. And if Lott knew the rules and didn’t make a dirty hit on Green that took him out of the game, then Arkansas likely scores another touchdown that drive, instead of the backup fumbling a snap in the red zone. All of that and the backup still came in and broke down that defense for the game winning drive. Either Tennessee just isn’t that talented, which I don’t think is true, or Arkansas just played a fantastic game despite many mistakes, and had a home crowd and defense the vols just couldn’t handle

Tenner had 2 weeks to prep for this game but appeared unprepared. The Arkansas defense attacked and dared Nico to win with his arm. I think it was extremely questionable to let the Hogs score to potentially go up 7 (yes, I know they missed the 2-pt conversion) when they hadn't moved the ball well all night. The better play would have been to use your timeouts, play defense, force the FG attempt (with a backup kicker) with a backup QB and then still have probably around 60 seconds to get in FG position for the win. Tenner's clock management was baffling.
@keegangossett28963 ай бұрын
I disagree completely. Letting them score the TD was ultimately the best call especially when Arkansas got the first down inside the 10. Otherwise Arkansas would’ve ran the clock down to well under a minute, and kicked an FG to win it. That said, Heupel should’ve used a timeout on the huge first down around the 58 second mark instead of letting the clock run. That ultimately led to the final play with 6 seconds left and that play being an absolute disaster similar to 2021 Ole Miss.

Why the hell do we keep running the single back formation? Oh sure we run up fantastic numbers when we play lame teams but always lose to the three or four good teams every year. We got two great backs. Why not use them. Two backs enables us to run misdirection, outlet passes, tons more deception and an extra blocker. Nico's young and I don't think coach trusts him just yet and I don't know why you would pay a kid 8 million dollars and then refused to let him throw the ball. This is what it is to be a Tennessee fan. But I was ready for this I know we were going to lose yesterday.

They had it coming, all the dancing around after a score, all the me, me, me horse biscuits . Be humble now and play like a unit as one then celebrate championships.

Tennessee is still in it though! Any team in the SEC can slip up. Go Hogs 🐗

So, was the field conditions bad like at OU? Was TN playing only their 2nd and 3rd string defense again like they did against OU? Did TN let their foot off the gas again against Arkansas like they did at OU? I thought TN was averaging like 65points per game before the OU game. I mean that TN defense was absolutely awesome against OU’s horrible offense. Geesh. This is weird.

Every excuse in the book wasn't gonna save the Vols last night. Lucky for them, the Hogs offense is a work in progress, or they really would have been roasted.

Wrong , it was Slaughter knew what was coming and they could always get into the right defence when we showed a certain look, very simple ...we stayed with what nico knew and didnt try to throw anything out of the ordinary in there . also think we let joey H. have full offencive play calling first half

Tennessee's office coordinator needs to be fired ASAP... he's too predictable he needs to mix it up with all the weapons that he has RPO, REVERE PLAYS, SCREENS, QUARTERBACK DRAWS BE CREATIVE WITH ALL THE WEAPONS THAT HE HAS PERIODTTT

Too many self inflicted penalties. Why is no one talking about it lol

Tennessee's offense is limited in what it can do at this point. Tennessee isn't a playoff team .that's obvious. Hope bext year is our year.

i think everyone is blind. We looked awful against oklahoma only the defense kept us in it to win it. Arkansas exploited us right. We only screen pass and run it up the middle. If thats all we can do we will lose pretty much the rest of our games.

Arkansas was the better team Saturday!!

Oklahoma doesn’t have an atmosphere no were close to Arkansas. There not SEC big time

Our offense just sucks. Our (vols) O-line is the worse O-line in the SEC. We have no decent passing game either. I don't know if Nico is what he was made out to be. Our secondary isn't that great either. We just aren't a good team. We will lose to Florida, knetucky georgia, bama and even vandy.

It's pretty obvious to me there's some animosity amongst the locker room! That team was absolutely lifeless on offense last night... They quit before they got started! This is coming of a bye week which makes even more unacceptable!! Elarbee is in over his head we need a new o line coach no doubt about it! Play calling was very suspect running the ball up the middle all night long....😂✌️

Tell you now Nico way over rated! Crumbles under pressure cant get the snap cant throw simple passes. 8 million dollars!!!!!?

Take Florida and the points , getting 15.5 . Yeah I’m in. Vs teams with talent Tennessee will win by maybe a fg. Losses to Fl, Bama, and Ga should be just about the normal.
@ericanderson8273 ай бұрын
Fla and Bama become must wins. That's the aftermath. Teach Nico to at least throw it in the end zone. I would rather he had been picked off instead of what he did. 🙄
@volbound17003 ай бұрын
Agree. I don't see this Tennessee team winning in Athens. I would add Kentucky as well. Kentucky is dangerous enough on defense to beat this Tennessee team.
