What this game showed me is Sampson is the heart and soul of this offense. He never quits he never gives up on a play no matter what he’s doing, whether blocking, running, or trying to get open, and that inspires everyone on the field. Knowing you’re blocking for a guy that will not quit until he hands the ref the ball gives an entire team confidence. There was a specific run he had that went for like -4 but he never quit driving his legs even as he was getting pushed back he refused to stop trying. Another he was getting the ball stripped and had to give everything to keep it but still never stopped driving his legs. Everything I’ve seen off the field he’s been a leader, and that’s something you can’t coach into a player.

I actually think it shows how good we are that we could have a ton of penalties and a pick 6 and another interception and we just put up 51 points. In previous times we would have lost by 50. Beat down a top 25 team with mostly defense, running, and tight ends. Hardly even got the receivers involved. A testament to Huepel's game planning and the improvement of this team overall to make an impressive win in a fashion we haven't really seen in the Huepel era. Gonna be a fun year to watch!

This is not a popular opinion but Nico amd the WRs had a rough day overall. The story of the game was the dline, linebackers, oline and Dylan freaking Sampson. When Nico and the wideouts start clicking like Hooker and company in 2022, no team in the country including UGA can beat us. That's only if/when they come together though. I'd say we are 4 to 6 games away from us being that good.

This is what I've been saying all offseason. The is the year for us to reemerge. 2022 was the knock at the door, last year we tried to go in through the back door. This year, we're breaking down the door. The WR core is the best in the country. That defensive front should be the best in the country, Dylan Sampson is a top 10 RB. Nico is a top 15 QB. The only question that ever was, is what do those DBs look like. We'll a walkon had a pick-six and McCoy had an open field tackle on a mountain of a TE in open field. That front helps, but we just need solid DBs, not world beaters. And I believe we have that.

Our schedule this year is not nearly as bad as usual actually. Color me unimpressed with both Oklahoma and Alabama plus de don't have to play Mizzou nor SC this year and both look good. Tennessee only has one loss on paper and that's UGA...a game in which we can definitely win if Nico and the WRs are really clicking.
