Tennessee vs Iowa - 2024 Citrus Bowl Highlights

No. 21 Tennessee shutout No. 17 Iowa, 35-0, in the 2024 Cheez-It Citrus Bowl as true freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava shined in his first-career start, accounting for four touchdowns in the Vols' second straight bowl win.
Tennessee had a dominating performance on the defensive side of the ball as it shut out Iowa. Edge James Pearce Jr. led the charge for UT's defense as he recorded three tackles, a sack, forced a fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown. Sophomore defensive lineman Tyre West added 1.5 sacks as Tennessee pressured the Hawkeyes throughout the game.

The other thing that impressed me is Tennessee had more players skip this bowl game (at least 5 more) than Iowa did but they still blew them out!

As an Tennessee fan, this was the best day ever! My Tennessee Volunteers won a bowl game while Alabama lost their semifinal playoff game to Michigan! It made my day! It was the best New Year’s Day ever!!

The Vols definitely played super well. Iowa was fortunate it wasn’t 42-0 haha. Of all the SEC teams they’re really the only one I like lol. I would absolutely love to see them get back to top tier and beat ‘Bama, Georgia, etc. Those teams have been at the top too long!!

Been watching Volunteer football since 1978 and only a hand full of times can I remember being so excited for this group of guys! Nico looked so poised and smooth in his play! Go VOLS Go! 🧡🧡🧡🍊🍊💰👍

I was proud this ESPN crew actually 90% of the time said NICOs last name correctly, not too hard to learn.... easiest way to learn quick roll off tongue pronunciation is ee-ah--Molly-ahvuh....but the reality is (MahLay-ahuvh)... but lets be honest with our southern slang and accents... if we say ee-ah-molly-ahvuh, then were 98% accurate.

Iowa QB. Wow. Never seen a kid who don’t know hot or throw the ball. Iowa wasn’t wide open a lot per se , but Tenn played man coverage . There are going to be 1 on 1s eveywhere when u do that. He didn’t attempt a pass at any player that wasn’t wide open by any less than 3 yards . He had guys open , and just held the ball! Even the strip sack , he had the rb leaking out of the back field . Is it a first down? No. BUT u drop it off to him, what k the makes the guy miss ??afterall, he was open and it’s a 1 in 1 situation. Give the guy a chance ? I don’t see how Iowa had an recievers , and I heard 2 of them said they are coming BACK. They are signing up for MORE of this worst offense and worst QB play in the nation. That tells me Iowas coach has a hell of a culture , the kids are staying they aren’t leaving . Also. Even tho OC was fired , the offense won’t be any better next year . Head coach for Iowa is old school, he is smash mouth pro style . And very few teams outside of Georgia and Michigan , have success with that offense ; and that’s because they got a 4 or 5 star kid at every position on the field. If you ain’t got talent ; pro style is the absolute worst offense u can run. also, I get the play calling is really really bad…. But the kid who started isn’t a d1 caliber QB. Who Wouldn’t start anywhere else , no offense to him . Iowa never had a chance in this game no matter how much Tenn scored
