Gamecocks vs Oklahoma elimination game in 2010 was much more clutch. Down to their final strike to claw back. What makes it more impactful is South Carolina was 1 strike away from not winning a national title. They rallied through losers and started the biggest win streak in CWS history. Believe it’s 24? Went undefeated through regionals, supers, and cws the next year. A record that will likely never be broken.

Thing I have to say about the questionable call is that the batter hit in the tying runs. You can still get the third out and go into extra innings and win it. It's like that pass interference no-call in the Rams-Saints NFC Championship Game. Saints still kicked the FG to go up by three with under two minutes to go. They couldn't keep the Rams from tying in regulation. They got the ball first in overtime. They turned it over instead of driving it down the field to win it. They couldn't stop the Rams again to kick the winning FG. Believe me, I wanted to see Brees vs. Brady in the Superbowl, instead, we got the SnoozeBowl. But you can't blame the Saints lose on that call. It was within their capabilities to overcome that obstacle. Back to this situation, get that third out, score some runs on the top of the 10th and shut door in the bottom of the 10th.

Listen that check swing was never gonna end that game. It's to high stakes of a game for them to end it on a call like that. So they done a judgement call and said no swing. But they let it play out. FSU still lost the game after that. TN had two on still after they one the game there is no telling how many runs they could have scored but that call didn't cause FSU to loose. FSU caused FSU to loose with shitty bullpen pitching it's that plain and simple they were up 3 runs with only needing 1 out amd they couldnt get it done.

Why leave the game in the hands of a check swing after leading big from the 4th inning on? Why not pile on more runs to “secure” the game? FSU players and coaches got comfortable and thought they had it in the bag. Talk about the lead off triple in the 9th and then the sac fly? Talk about the walk before the Christian Moore double? Talk about the pitch selection that gave up the double? You bring in two of your most experienced pitchers to close the game and they failed. Basically, everyone on the FSU side are blaming the loss on the ump to cast light on someone else and not the coaching staff or team. Was it a bad call? 100% Yes. Did it have to get to that? No, but it did. That was your chance to take. Great game overall!!!

Those saying "FSU won that game" the game was already tied 11-11 with the VOLS having ALL the momentum having scored 3 unanswered runs in the bottom of the 9th. Even IF thats called an out, FSUs raggedy bullpen still has to face UTs heart of the lineup in the 10th inning while choking to death vs the #1 offensive team in the country. So NO...theres no reason whatsoever to think FSU would have somehow done in the 10th what they clearly could not do in the 8th or 9th innings where they were outscored 4-0. BTW ... all 5(FIVE) of UTs doubles that were hit to end the game would have been HRs in UTs park, FSUs park, and just about anywhere else in college ball. Yall lucky that wasn't just 3 bombs and sportscenter infamy earlier in the 9th.

Watch the whole at bat again. The pitch on the check swing was low. As was the other 2 called strikes in that at bat. The check swing was a judgement call. There were plenty of chances to not have the check swing matter. If the center fielder that was inserted for defense makes the catch that at bat probably doesn’t matter

Why does FSU still want to join the SEC? There will just be plenty of more calls like the check swing no call. In other words The Noles would be treated like dirt. The SEC is in the process of taking over college sports, it isn't just happening in the closed meetings of the College Football playoff Committee. As an NC State fan i just hope that another SEC coach doesn't get us kicked out of the College World Series like the Vandy coach did back in 2021. ESPN sure seems to enjoy sitting back and watching it all happen.

LOL. How many championships has the SEC won in the past 10 years? Baseball = 6; Football = 6 You could go further back, but the story is the same. SEC has already taken over football and baseball.

@@blairjs You have a great league and have set the pace in Football and Baseball ...A victory over the SEC is hard to come by and last night I thought the ACC had one and the check swing missed call summed up how things have been going in Omaha for the ACC lately. While the SEC has been on their impressive run the ACC has been the only league to put any serious heat on the SEC. The three ACC football national titles over the last 11 seasons were all won against SEC teams. A Championship in the College world Series has been tougher to come by for the ACC than any of the three major sports( 4 if you count soccer). Since the ACC sent so many SEC teams home during the Regional and super Regionals Iwas expecting better at the CWS. Forgive me for rambling....I'm still upset that my Wolfpack only scored four runs after the great offensive show that we put on in the Athens super regional. Disappointed but still not giving up on my Wolfpack....or my league. At least we haven't been thrown out of the CWS by an SEC Coach so far this year like in 2021.

Props to both teams for a great game. You can't give a team like the Vols extra outs and expect to win. That is exactly what the third base umpire did in the bottom of the ninth. He was probably the only person in that stadium of 24,000+ people who thought that the batter actually checked his swing. Should have been game over.

@@ellahelms6438 Just a baseball fan here - no dog in the fight, but maybe each team could get one review for this particular predicament in the future. Got to be a better camera angle for the umps to look at. Maybe even put in an overhead view of the plate just for the CWS. I don't know other than to say that the human errors/inconsistencies are just part of baseball.

@@chrisventry8209 yeah. I think having something like that would be good too. But I’ve talked to several people about the subject and they said it could have been 50/50 but I am not adding on here I just think it’s a good thing to add extra cameras or even use the ump cameras they have.

@@ellahelms6438 It's hard for a 3rd or 1st base ump to see if the bat actually gets out in front of the plate from the angle that he is looking on from. This call has always been 50/50 on the close ones. An overhead shot may be the only way to get it straight.
