Gamecocks vs Oklahoma elimination game in 2010 was much more clutch. Down to their final strike to claw back. What makes it more impactful is South Carolina was 1 strike away from not winning a national title. They rallied through losers and started the biggest win streak in CWS history. Believe it’s 24? Went undefeated through regionals, supers, and cws the next year. A record that will likely never be broken.

Thing I have to say about the questionable call is that the batter hit in the tying runs. You can still get the third out and go into extra innings and win it. It's like that pass interference no-call in the Rams-Saints NFC Championship Game. Saints still kicked the FG to go up by three with under two minutes to go. They couldn't keep the Rams from tying in regulation. They got the ball first in overtime. They turned it over instead of driving it down the field to win it. They couldn't stop the Rams again to kick the winning FG. Believe me, I wanted to see Brees vs. Brady in the Superbowl, instead, we got the SnoozeBowl. But you can't blame the Saints lose on that call. It was within their capabilities to overcome that obstacle. Back to this situation, get that third out, score some runs on the top of the 10th and shut door in the bottom of the 10th.

Why leave the game in the hands of a check swing after leading big from the 4th inning on? Why not pile on more runs to “secure” the game? FSU players and coaches got comfortable and thought they had it in the bag. Talk about the lead off triple in the 9th and then the sac fly? Talk about the walk before the Christian Moore double? Talk about the pitch selection that gave up the double? You bring in two of your most experienced pitchers to close the game and they failed. Basically, everyone on the FSU side are blaming the loss on the ump to cast light on someone else and not the coaching staff or team. Was it a bad call? 100% Yes. Did it have to get to that? No, but it did. That was your chance to take. Great game overall!!!

Why does FSU still want to join the SEC? There will just be plenty of more calls like the check swing no call. In other words The Noles would be treated like dirt. The SEC is in the process of taking over college sports, it isn't just happening in the closed meetings of the College Football playoff Committee. As an NC State fan i just hope that another SEC coach doesn't get us kicked out of the College World Series like the Vandy coach did back in 2021. ESPN sure seems to enjoy sitting back and watching it all happen.

@@blairjs You have a great league and have set the pace in Football and Baseball ...A victory over the SEC is hard to come by and last night I thought the ACC had one and the check swing missed call summed up how things have been going in Omaha for the ACC lately. While the SEC has been on their impressive run the ACC has been the only league to put any serious heat on the SEC. The three ACC football national titles over the last 11 seasons were all won against SEC teams. A Championship in the College world Series has been tougher to come by for the ACC than any of the three major sports( 4 if you count soccer). Since the ACC sent so many SEC teams home during the Regional and super Regionals Iwas expecting better at the CWS. Forgive me for rambling....I'm still upset that my Wolfpack only scored four runs after the great offensive show that we put on in the Athens super regional.
