Tennessee North, truly this video does it for me. Your menu and cooking can only be termed spectacular. The way you started with where all the food came from made it special. We always had a meat and 2 or 3 of those vegetables were tomatoes. The market man came to us too. How fun. Thanks.

Hello Mrs North, Oh How Well I remember the Vegetable Man, Back In the Day We ever had a Broomman come by selling brooms, mops and cleaning supply, Mom would by Watkins Products, Even had one selling clothes,rugs, bedspreads not Comforter Bedspreads You would make with the two pillows tuck, My Grandmother had a beautiful white Chenille bedspread, Yes Chicken only on Sunday We raised chicken to, Yes You have to wash vegetables I was picking Greens one day and a frog came hoping from them, But Hmm I washed and Cook My Greens released the frog😊, Have A Blessed Day, Enjoy Your Storytime

Miss North I was born and raised in the Midwest. My grandmothers came from Tennessee and Mississippi. They taught me how to cook. When I was in the Army stationed in Korea I found greens! I made greens ham hocks and cornbread. Sliced tomatoes and onions. Everyone ate good. That was a frequent request from my Army buddies. You’re so right we take our food everywhere 😃 Thanks for reminding me of good times and our great food culture. ❤

Tennessee North, I cook my corn the way you cooked yours. I don't put onions nor bell peppers in it. I do put it in my my cabbage. Your plate looks so scrumptious. I do remember back in the day when the truck would come by selling produce, or bedspreads. You bought back alot of memories. Like you said on Saturday we went to town to the grocery stores , now I go almost every day lol

Loving your stories, I'm in my mid-sixties and know nothing about chocolate chip cookies in chips in the can. I do remember the man coming through the neighborhood selling produce. We always had a Tupperware of cut up veggies in the refrigerator. It was a great way to snack on something cold and crunch in the summertime. I have to say your veggie plate looks amazing. I think I need to visit a farmers market this week and that hot water cornbread, mercy that looks delicious.
