this is one of my favorites of theirs. for some reason i always i think its about a woman falling for her best friend, and the song begins with her remembering admitting her feelings to kate and then the rest of the song is her processing it all. i think she may be married to a man and that is just adding to the whole thing. my sister had this happen with a close friend and they had a falling out but now are very close again. beautiful song.

When I hear this I feel like it's a song about being out of touch with oneself. Maybe the narrator gave up some dreams or goals and became something a younger version may not have appreciated much.
