Thank you for making this. Couple of key things would make this tutorial better: 1) what grit of sandpaper are you using (looks very coarse) 2) if doing with belt sander, what grit (I assume should be much finer grit) 3) what are other methods you've used and please give pro's and con's... Also, staple on but-cap will be easier to remove later if needed... removing nails only easy after you tear off the cap to get clearance.

It looks like either 80 or 120. I’m leaning more towards 80

@@joseppi4cinqua What a dip-stick... the right grit to use is important to know. It's a simple as RESPOND TO COMMENTS, or do what other folks do, and GO BACK AND PUT IN AN ANNOTATION ON THE VIDEO. I suggest you go crawl back in the hole you came out of.

Do not use an electric or a belt sander. It grinds too quick and very difficult to judge. Also make sure the grip bevels are aligned with the racquet head. If it gets crooked the racquet won't be square when hitting the ball when the wrist and hand is especially when reducing a very large grip to a very small grip like 5/8 to 1/4. Best is to use the sand paper or file and do it a little at a time and continuously check. Close one eye to see if the bevel is parallel to the racquet head by looking from the butt of the racquet. Bevel 1 and bevel 5 should be parallel with the head of the racquet. Good luck.

Thank you so much. Helped me customize my grip and I swear it took my game up a full skill level. That said.... WHAT IS THAT SONG IN THE BACKGROUND!? It was driving me crazy! I recognize it but can't make out enough lyrics to get a google hit. UPDATE: 5 mins later.... found it. So....thank you for the racquet education AND the song.

Thanks for the video, very good idea to put the sand paper of the flat surface to grind, and using digital caliper to measure 8-)

Tx , do you have measurement for each grip size ? Tx
@vittovespa Жыл бұрын
Measurements vary based on racket brand, basically not each brand uses same proportions of their grips, if you do a google search you should be able to find some helpful charts

Actually you can’t put Head pallets on this frame, the hairpin has a different shape, Head sticks have a rectangular hairpin, this one is octagonal.

I ordered 4 1/4 " grip size and after putting adding the over grip tape it came out to be 4 3/8" should I buy 4 1/8" grip size racket instead?
@vittovespa Жыл бұрын
If after adding an over grip the grip is too big for you, I’d definitely order the size down next time.
@kalas734 жыл бұрын
Do you know the measure to reduce the grip to a 4 1/4?
@vittovespa Жыл бұрын
Had all those written somewhere, however I’m sure that if you search online you should be able to find a chart, each brand has slightly different proportions.
