I’ve been playing recreationally for over 3 decades and I can say with all honesty, this is the best analysis of a stroke I’ve ever seen. I have improved my game in the last 4 weeks, just watching your videos, along with a few select others, more than I ever have in 30 years combined. A heartfelt thank you from Duluth Minnesota! I hope I can meet your amazing crew someday in my travels through Wisconsin.

For all us tennis geeks out there, love it. The difference in timing between the back fence and into the net is quite amazing, 8 thousandths of a second! Just demonstrates why rhythm is so important eh?

I love how you showed us some of the failed dude perfect serves 😂 But seriously, really good video, I didn't know that just a degree or 2 can really change where my serves land

As a physicist, I love this (and have thought about doing something similar just for fun). Did you do any kind of error analysis? That is, did you do a large number of trials and analyze the distance the ball traveled compared to the angle it was hit at? Since Kevin was trying to keep speed consistent and hit flat, theoretically they should be paired perfectly, but I’m wondering to how large a degree slight differences in speed and swing path alter the ball landing/angle relationship

Finally !!! Someone answering my question "how do I aim down the T or out-wide with a flat serve, without telling me to change the racket path, the ball toss or using a slice serve ?" :) Now the next question you could answer is "What do we need to change to get those 9 or 28° for a serve down the T or out-wide ?" Do we have to change grip to have different orientation of the racket face ? The ball toss ? Shoulders orientation ? Hips orientation ? I've seen many things on KZbin, got several answers from tennis coaches, and so far nobody has been able to give me the same correct answer. Great video guys !! :)

It's all about hand/forearm, Gilles. Definitely do NOT use a different grip for each target in the box. Your stance, trophy pose, and alignment of everything else should be almost identical as well. There may be a bit of difference in body position at contact (hips, shoulders, torso) but not a lot. Most of the racquet face adjustment should be done with the hand. -Ian

This certainly busts the myth of having to be tall to hit down on the ball. If a 75 mph ball goes in at 92 degrees just imagine how much longer a 120 mph serve would be at the same angle. OK, even a 100 mph serve which Kevin could hit, assuming you are using speed off the racquet rather than average speed.

You got it, the angle of the strings doesn't start actually facing down until a really REALLY hard serve, way above the speed that 99% of tennis players ever hit.

can you do the same but with kicks and slices for the angles?
@RaulFournier
@RaulFournier 3 ай бұрын
Does this mean that at higher speed the angle should be shorter? Also how does the ball toss and impact height affect the distance where the ball lands?

Hello, I'm 17 years old and I've started playing tennis a month ago. I practiced about 8 sessions and every session 30 mins long. and my coach told me that I play like someone have been training for 2 years and that made me happy. but I'm afraid that one day I'll be not able to improve quickly like that rate i'm improving in right now, so could you tell me some tips about how can i keep this rate of improving?
