Brilliant. Cleared up my confusion that has plagued me for years. Thanks so much

This tip of moving foot forward before raising racquet is genius idea. It linked all the rest movements. I will call it “ serve split foot”.

In fact, looking in slow motion, you are moving your back leg and starting the knees bend just as your tossing arm is starting it's upward movement way before the ball is released. Great video by the way.

Considering your toss is done with your non-dominant arm I think it’s something a lot of people neglect. Just like any other muscle memory, the toss is important. I know it helped me a lot to always toss with the racquet arm tip pointed slightly down and hand very relaxed. Late hitting concept is the way to go on the serve in my opinion.

Many thanks for a great video. May I have a question: for a short player (under 1,7m), what stance and what kinds of serves (flat, kick, slice) should be used for an optimal game?

Ruud does this too and he does it quickest on the tour I think

I have tried the Kyrgios tossing technique and it was hard to get a consistent toss because you are also moving your back foot in the middle of your tossing motion. I guess if i had spent the amount of time that Kyrgios spent on perfecting his serve, I would eventually get it, I think. The toss is the most difficult part of the serve for me. The swing path is actually easy comparatively speaking.

For most people the toss is the most difficult part. Deceptively so.

Weird how one can criticise the way professional players play, when most folk who want to play tennis are average. This must mean that technique is important but not everything

As a professional teacher, here are a few suggestions: 1. You give too many negative examples early in the video. You demonstrate the wrong way many more times than the correct way! It might be useful to use other people to show the negative example. 2. The angle you are at is not ideal. It would be better to have a view from the side. 3. There is too much not relevant talking. Script out what you are going to say before you start. Who you know or have played with is interesting, but not relevant. It is not appropriate, as a teacher, to say at the end "I hope this makes sense".That absolutely kills your credibility. You have so many excellent points that simply get lost in the delivery. I hope you actually read this and take it as constructive criticism.
