Being prepared and set up in the right position in time is one of the keys to hitting a great shot. The ability to react visually is one of the biggest things that prevents players from preparing quickly. This happens at all levels because as the speed of play goes up, so do the visual requirements.
Which is why in this video I show you a simple but effective drill to help you prepare more quickly for your shots.

Just spent $5,000 on laser eye surgery so I could see the tennis ball better. Wish I saw this video earlier, could have saved me a fortune.

I'm sure it was money well spent. I haven't had it my self, but I've heard from many people how life changing it is. You can still benefit a lot from vision training though, because surgery helps with visual clarify and focal length. it doesn't improve the function in the muscles and brain areas that control eye movements.

@@TennisHacker yes my comment was a little in jest but the exercises you recommend can certainly help. I also got the surgery done for improved lifestyle. It has helped already on the court as well (contacts tended to dry out on long rallies).

I like the free vision stuff. How often should I do this? Once a day? More often per day?

For most players I recommend doing a full vision training program 2 to 3 times per week. If you are just working on one drills, every day is fine. If you'd like to learn more about how I approach things, check out this class: www.tennishacker.net/tennis-vision-reg-YT

Like it. Takes me about a second to focus in on the far target. What is a goal I should shoot for over time?

There isn't a goal time, but any improvements you make will be helpful. If there is 2-3 seconds between you hitting your shot (depending on the speed of the shots), even small improvements make a big difference in your ability to react.

Haha, you don’t like the feel of a racket in your hands? 😂 I also practice shadow swings without my racket walking down the street. But there’s definitely worse addictions to have

If you play in your glasses I would recommend doing it both with and without.
