I think there will be music videos for ALL of them officially released on Maltese TV. From the snippets they've posted most of the songs have already had such a glow up, and many of them look great on the video. Can't wait!!!

Just watched the final and I think I love Malta now. The winner's performance - where all the contestants came out, sang along, and you could see that they all know each other, because of course they do - was pure joy.

I know people think that Matt's song is a bit of a joke entry, but it's so catchy and well-produced that I think it would get a lot of good attention, like you said. I think people would have fun and dance around to it. Also, I've seen a teaser of his staging and he's got some dancers with him in monkey masks. I'm not sure if they will eat bananas, though, yet. However, I think it's going to be super iconic.

god i'd love to see banana on the eurovision stage haha. i always think of malta, maybe a little unkindly, as a mix of uk ballads and melfest rejects, so i'm all for them going in a silly, fun direction instead! although i agree that their song last year was pretty good too, it's a shame it got drawn where it did

I really liked the 1st song, Sirena most, plus the Banana song & staging seems fun (or it could be), so hope one of those wins 😉 Anyway, kudos for some of these countries for their incredible stamina to still go on, despite ending up in the bottom of the barrel in their semifinals for a few years now, I mean I'd probably have thrown in the towel myself 😅

Now that we know the semi-final allocation I think there's risk that if they pick Banana that they'll be overshadowed by Estonia and the Netherlands who'll both probably also have more chaotic type entries with (probably) 5miinust and Joost Klein. Personally, I think Loop, Mara, or Sirena would be betters bets in that case but we'll see I guess.

Though if they send a female pop song they’ll be in contention with Georgia, Austria, Czechia or Albania, it’s a lose lose situation, if the song and staging is good it won’t matter. Also Estonia and the Netherlands will be in different languages so that helps the differentiation

Mesc semi finalists were not allowed full choreography, dancers or any staging during the semis, hence the low energy from some I guess

I want Matt Black to go to ESC along with 5MIINUUST+PUULUUP for Estonia (my fav nf entry) just to see how they'd both do in the same semi...for experimental purposes 😅 - I think that since Trenuletul and Give That Wolf A Banana both qualified from the same semi in 2022 (with a mixed public/jury vote) Malta and Estonia wouldn't cancel each other out if they sent these entries...

Oh, can someone please explain to me what ad-lib means? According to Wiktionary it means to improvise, but I don't understand how you can do that in a song. Everything's already set, isn't it?

Maybe my favorite National final this year because of the diversity and just fun. My bf who I usually feel like I’m forcing to watch national finals absolutely loves a lot of these entries and Sirena is his favorite of this year, so I am super excited about this final!

I feel vindicated! Jk haha My top pick is Matt Blxck, followed by Sarah's Loop (she can improve on vocals if selected). I know a lot of Maltese don't want to send Matt Blvck, equating him with Eat your salad, but in their generic selection, he really stands out and is so much fun! Plus having a snack break in the middle of the song is campy genius! I know Erba is getting a lot of love but their performance was just so low energy. Their MV snippet was low energy too. They are so not on my radar if they don't improve on stage presence and charisma because everyone else has that, even the ballad singers. To have less energy in a pop song compared to a sad ballad is a big no no. Special mention to Lisa Gauci. She is by far the strongest vocally. In a less than ideal staging, her voice was on point. No other Maltese singers this year compares. Sadly this isn't a singing competition. Her song to me wasn't bad. But does it stand out enough? Probably not, even though I personally would love to see her on the esc stage. Still it's probably the only ballad out of the ones in mesc that I'd actually listen to on an everyday playlist.

I think Lisa Gauci singing Breathe is vocally so far ahead of anyone else, and I'm soooooo not a ballad person. Seems very experienced too, endless connection with the camera. She's my number one choice. Erba is my second; love the Maltese and the vocal harmonies, needs a visual upgrade. And the banana song is my third. 🍌🍌🍌

The real winner should have been Dominic Cini, but the public didn't put him through to the final, which was SHOCKING. With the mess we've got, the only one I liked was Erba. Matt Blxck and Greta Tude are just trolls as far as I'm concerned. It's like they're not even trying, and people got through because they were finalists before.

Frankly, I like none of the songs if I'm being honest. I don't mind songs that are a bit on the cheeky side, but Matt's Banana just feels obnoxious rather than fun if you ask me. If I had to send one though, I guess Denise with a revamp could do something? (doubtful but you need to pick one still). Also the odds are not surprising, I've seen quite a few Maltese people over on social media saying that there's no point in voting in MESC this year as everything is fixed for Matt Blxck already.
