Hawkeye is terrible and unusable on clay. It is consistently wrong. We saw it in Madrid clearly. Hawkeye is about estimation, not real point of contact. There're significant surface and therefore bounce irregularities on clay that messes with Hawkeye's calculations big time.

I just rewatched the Federer v. Berdych final in Madrid 2012. Even Fed got jeered when he argued that the ball had hit the ground. He was very respectful about it. If Federer got jeered, I don’t know anybody who’s going to be safe from it.

Over 4 hours & completely riveting. A war of attrition, really, it was a pyrrhic victory as whoever won wouldn't have enough time to recover enough to face Carlitear & put up a real fight. Indeed, Shang was fatigued & got dusted in the next round.

The mistake on Borges vs Garin its the most ridicoulous thing ive seen in tennis. I hope the umpire did get punished for it, that just can not happen. I think he did because i dont remember him umpiring after that match. As for Garin, he is dirty. Not only on that match but many others. Another player I feel happy for his downfall.

I know they want to save money, but it's time to stop the thinking that umpires can't make mistakes on clay and that's assuming they can reliably find the "mark" to make the call.

Sinnatra vs Olive Oil in the Money Carload SF was THE biggest travesty of the 2024 clay court swing. And no, I will NOT let Aurally Retort live that horrible umpiring down. That was a double fault which should have meant a 5-2 double break lead for Janhip. Twistypast should not have made it to the final against Ruudimentary.
