After losing that heartbreaking US Open semifinal, he went on a tear and won every single match for the remainder of the year. Davis Cup playoffs, Basel, Paris and the World Tour Finals - only dropping a total of six sets en route (2 in Davis Cup playoffs, 1 in Basel, 3 at the WTFs).

What a genius. Nobody can play like this. As great as his serve and forehand was, the video again, like so many others, shows how uniquely masterful and resilient his backhand was, and how clueless all the newbies are, badmouthing his backhand here recently, comparing it to Tsitsipas (gigantic cluelessness), etc. He could hit any angle from any position with it, like nobody else.
