Rafa was so erratic in Madrid 2022 that Madrid 2021 and Indian Wells 2022 would be the appropriate comparison. Both times he played good tennis. But after he was injured in the final of Indian Wells, the end of his career began.

The appropriate comparison would be Indian Wells. Nadal was still not injured and Alcaraz was already showing the level we saw in the next tournaments as Madrid or uso 22

Indeed Carlitos has improved dramatically & showed promise at such an early age. Even the Big 3 took whole lot of years to master the skill set. But Carlitos has changed the way Tennis will be played from now on. We saw Federer revolutionising in early 2000s & now this wonder is just nuts. He possess every trick & skill that a tennis fan wants to see on court. I feel lucky to witness Big 3 & now Carlitos carrying on the torch. Vamos Carlitos 💛

It’s quite standard for a player to improve significantly between ages 17-20/21. He was 17 until May of 2021 and now he’s 21. For most athletes, the late teens to 20/21 is when someone truly becomes a pro

Alcaraz career most amazing stat is that he has 4 slams and 49 losses at atp level. Crazy ( 69 when include qualifiers and itf ). Even big three didn't have so many less losses at his age

In this 1st meeting Rafa was bullying Carlos in the the first. In the 2nd Carlos got over his ab issue and proceeded to erase the 1st set from his mind. Incredible mental drive from very young Carlos 😮

Have you heard about Novak Djokovic !??? Mastered clay, mastered grass ,Mastered hard court. Carlos is young and its too early to give him the title of king .. and there’s no more big three right now its just about Novak and he is in his last few seasons. So basically big three are about to retire and not anymore in their prime.

Novak is a legend no doubt and i do respect him alot infact i respect all these Big 3 cauz they changed he way Tennis will always be played. But Novak himself took alot of time and years to master his game. He wasnt natural infact he adapted and learned. Carlos is on another level and Novak too appreciates his talents. He is going to win many Grand Slams if he stays healthy for sure.

After next gen finals 2021 to Indian wells 2022 the guy took a huge leap interms of skill and strength ! he skipped aus open in order to complete the process but boy he turned up like beast ! i was worried for their match up at 2022 IW cause he was like a live wire destroying bautista agut without mercy and my fear came true as nadal injured him during the process of winning over and that hindered most of his season in the upcoming days and glad he was able to win the FO one last time !!

I can’t believe how good Rafa was just two years ago..I believe he won his last French in 2022. Old age and injuries have really gotten the best of him in two years…doesn’t look like the same player now…though flashes of greatness in the double today, he can’t sustain it. Just happy that Carlos is now taking over the mantle…hope destroys Chokovic in their next few meetings!

I know it's not exactly what you mean, but the closest match we have is Indian Wells. Nadal was playing amazing and Alcaraz was already showing the level that won him Miami, Madrid and the us open. It's the best match in terms of having both in a good level. In Madrid 21 Alcaraz was still forming his level and in 22 Nadal was having a hell with injuries.
