Tenochtitlan was the capital of the Aztec Empire, founded in 1325 on lake Texcoco. At its height, the city had 300.000 inhabitants, with a grand market, many palaces and a great pyramid where captives were sacrificed to the Mexica gods. In 1521 Hernan Cortes besieged and conquered the city, founding Mexico City on its ruins.

I am so happy this channel exists, I think many people are very interested in this time period but I do not think there is nearly enough historical content for the arguably most important time in human history. Your historiography really does us a huge favour; I hope you can acknowledge that.

No it wasn’t the Aztec/Meshika capital temple was very big and a great monument but they based their main temple on the pyramid of Teohtihuacan which is equal to the pyramids of giza

Indeed yes nothing like the real Tenochtitlan but that would be incredibly difficult to represent everything in the city…. The Chinampas the zoos palaces large gardens aqueducts public pools etc etc let alone the markets n shit fr there’s a lot to learn
