VoicePlay is in sync with their creative team because they are their creative team! Usually Geoff and Layne alternate taking charge and do the arrangement, directing, costuming and editing. (All except the final vocal edit, which is always Ed Boyer.) They usually film at Pattycake Studios, which is owned by Layne and Tony Wakim (former VoicePlay baritone.). Tony sometimes helps with directing and/or costuming. Eli does the lighting. Geoff’s wife Kathy is the production manager and also films and edits the BTS video they post for patrons. Occasionally Layne does camera work (either fixed or steadycam), but he does need to be on camera, so for larger shoots they use a cameraman and sometimes an assistant (focus puller.) The wonderful makeup is almost always done by Rick Underwood, with a second person added as needed. (SO needed on this shoot.) They always list everyone involved in the credits under the video. Their Halloween video just premiered today. Layne also helmed this one,so it is spooky and fun! It’s Hide and Seek (Ding Dong) with featured artist Lauren Paley. (Yes, the one of TikTok fame for the same song!) I’m sure you’d like it!

First, we don't mind you rewinding. We ALL do it, especially the first 2-3 times with a new song. Am glad you had fun with this. And yes, that note. We know how you feel about that note. And the team behind Voiceplay? Yeah, one was on the far right, the other was on the far left. Geoff and Layne are the ones arranging it all.

You should feel free to rewind or pause as often as you see fit. People can watch the original if they don't want delays. You're here to give your reaction and you do what you need to do so you can. You're loved and appreciated 💓

Please do rewind as much and as often as you desire my dear. We are here for it. You could visit the Haunted Mansion. Just a suggestion. By the way, speaking of the Haunted Msnsion, you might find Voiceplay's newest offering amusing. Hide and Seek, set in the Mansion.

Voiceplay outdid themselves on this one! And they do it all themselves: musical arrangements, lighting, costumes, filming, etc. They sometimes outsource the makeup, but not always.

Awesome reaction as always Nat. I love listening to you. Love your accent ❤️ No problem if you rewind. If you want to go ahead.

Most of us not only don’t care if you rewind, and we prefer it so that we get that continuity. You’re making observations and you should feel free to go back and revisit some things so that you can more clearly explain your thoughts. We can always watch the video on our own. Most of us come to reaction channels and analysis channels because you may see or hear something we may have missed. I can watch and listen a dozen times and still miss things. It took me a few times to notice that every time they added something to the cauldron and then took a sip, their voice mutated. It also took me several viewings to realize that the section that ends with Layne’s burp started with Cesar’s little squeaker, followed by Eli‘s spitting and Geoff wiping his nose. Nothing like some gradeschool humor. 😂 Layne, who arranged most of this, is insane. Insanely talented! You may not be a Disney person, but you really should watch their Halloween offering. It is set in Disney’s Haunted Mansion with assorted creep-ies, but I really think you might like the song. Not goth, but decidedly creepy- Hide and Seek. They are their own team. For custom made costumes and makeup like this, they rely heavily on PattyCake Productions , co-owned by the beatboxer and Tony, who you may have seen In their cover of Phantom of the Opera. They also will sometimes hire out a steady cam operator, but often Layne (beatboxer) will step in. The arrangements, concept, video, editing and initial sound edit are all done by them, with Geoff’s wife Kathy as invaluable Production Manager. Unlike most of the other a cappella groups, they do not have any corporate sponsorships or a label. It’s all them, all the time.

Layne's delightful sense of humor shines through with every note. Cesar said Layne was very excited about this song, I can definitely see why. Genius. Thanks for the reaction, it was so much fun!

That low note was an F#1 subharmonic. Although, earlier in the song (at 4:05 ), Geoff hit a C#1.

But, let's not forget Elizabeth's D above soprano C note she hit.

In The Hall of The Mountain King is along with Solveig Song the best known bit from Peer Gynt suite by Edvard Grieg. So Voiceplay did an actual orchestral score in A Capella. Ironically there is a choir in original but their lyrics Voiceplay didn't sing ^^

It's ok we all have those days. This is just so fun to listen to and watch their antics. The make-up, the set, and the costumes. Easter eggs in the tree branches of the masks of Lock, Shock, and Barrel for their video Kidnap The Sandy Claws from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Getting to watch the BTS video and see how they do all these things themselves.
