I can always tell chronologically where I am in your series now, sure by the numbers, but mostly by not the length of your beard. Both beard and voice are something to aspire to and you have been absolutely instrumental in making my voice. I am an asthmatic who has sung for years without coordinated breath control let alone appoggio. You're helping me to unlock this part of my voice that I've known was there for years. Thank you so much, and I wish you were doing private lessons!

Awesome teaching! That was what I needed to hear. II have only recently discovered that once you locate the resonance inside your 'boca', you sure as heck don't want to move anything inside there so you don't lose the feeling!!! In order to keep the feeling of buzz inside my mouth cave, I find i start pulling my lip down naturally and subsequently my jaw doesn't swing. I also feel the sound staying put with the breath anchor, as long as I don't change my throat shape inside... keep it still... so it doesn't slip away like gossamer. It's such a cool feeling!😀and so easy when you get it.

Excellent precision in detailing all aspects of vocals. I still love Singing Opera but find modern music just a bit more interesting, but all of this applies either way. Blues singer like BB King, Clapton, and Michael Bolton rarely show their top teeth for the same reason you're describing, a warmer tone..thank you for the excellent videos!

Maestro Trimble I would like to thank you for spending the time to share some of your invaluable knowledge and experience with us. I've bought your book through amazon some years ago and your teachings are really effective. I've been breathing in my lower back and even my reflux symptoms have become smaller cause my stomach is not being pressed to breathe. It feels so much more natural, like the air is "filling the inside" of the body instead of being "pushed" into the belly. In addition to that, I must say that breathing through the nose AND through the mouth at the same time has given me better results than choosing either one to breathe. I feel my throat more open, the voice comes out louder and brighter with less effort. My question is: would that be a problem in the long run, if I breathe through mouth and nose at the same time while singing? I would really appreciate an answer. Thank you very much, we feel so blessed for having your teachings here on KZbin.

What a beard! A great lesson too- I've never seen Maestro explain the "ideal" mouth posture like this, so that's super useful. Also interesting to hear Maestro crack every once in awhile. I've noticed it's only ever due to phlegm, never tension or a lack of breath control (no surprise there). I guess allergies are sort of a singers achilles heel!

Hey Michael, I’m a huge fan of your content on KZbin. I’m working on becoming a contemporary(pop) singer and I just have a couple of questions. 1. Is it best to lean the breath on the chest/sternum or into the diaphragm/abdominals? 2. Can you breathe in any vowel shape on the inhale, or is it best just to stick to the smile/ “stai” shape? 3. My current range of comfort is E2-Eb5 I may be baritone ( Male) but I’m struggling with falsetto & many baritone’s don’t … any tips on that? 4. Pop/ Contemporary music has more staccato/quick lines. I know we can still inhale through the lower back, but is it okay to inhale through the mouth for quick notes?
