Because babies are are born with soft born. Reshaping bones into it's correct position. Is easier to do. As opposed to older bones.

Oh, and by the way, the saw can’t cut him. They are specifically designed so they can’t cut human skin. Only material. They just vibrate back-and-forth really fast and it doesn’t cut your skin because your skin moves with it.

Last time the person cut the baby and that is what she's talking about. My own baby was born with clubfoot and when we did her casting, that never happened to us so I was so sad when I saw that happened to her baby, however small the cuts were, it should never had happened.

Yeah it can cut skin. Not like a regular saw but it definitely happens sometimes.

It can give you a heck of a burn though..happened to me. Medical staff shows you on the thick skin of their hand.

I was born this way and received the same treatments and had boots and bar for almost a year. I'm 66 now. My mom said I grew so attached to my bar... that I cried myself to sleep after it was no longer needed. I don't remember any of it. Your son sure seems happy, contented, and blossoming in your loving care. Good job, Mom and Dad!!!

He’s looking so good. Soon this will be just a memory. My niece had all kinds of trouble with her bladder and having urine reflux that was giving her infections when she was between 18 months and 2. She required 2 surgeries, outpatient thank goodness but they got her all straightened out and now she’s a gorgeous 20 year old woman with no problems whatsoever. This will pass and he looks 100 times better already.

I'm glad his feet are corrected now. After this he'll go through the vracing stage till 4 or 5 years when he'll no longer need his shoes. My baby is 20 months now and we are still on our journey too. She's walking now and its beautiful to watch because when i first saw her feet, i never thought that'll be possible. Ps: I was never told my baby will be born with clubfoot from any of my scans and i also had her prematurely at 27 weeks. Thanks for sharing your journey and you've all got this mama💪

Adorable boy! Im 65 and was born with knock knees & pigeon toed. At 6 months, doctors put me in casts for a long time. My legs looked good, and my feet were now straight. They missed a few important things, and at 50 yo i had both knees replaced because the leg bones were not aligned. Thank goodness we have such wonderful technology. He will be perfect.

Oh, this brings back memories…💗 my daughter had the casting and surgery 13 years ago. It’s amazing how by age 1 there was no way to tell that she was born with severe clubfoot. And the fact that the brace is only needed at sleep time meant that it didn’t interfere with her normal day craziness.

I had this same procedure done back in the early 80’s to correct my bilateral club foot. I had the casts and tenotomy done and in total I think I wore casts on my legs for just over 6 months.

Thanks for sharing this. Our baby would have been born with a limb difference (she was missing an arm) before we lost her. It’s so scary as a parent to know what your day to day life might look like, and sharing this journey you’re on and the amazing progress I’m sure means the world to other parents out there finding out scary news about their babies. 🥲 I had this done and surgery. My feet are full of scars. I even have a scar on my shin from a cut by the saw. My feet are in chronic dull pain. I developed an Achilles tendon contracture at 31y and needed a lengthening. It's so wonderful your baby is responding amazingly to treatment.

Hi I personally was born with a club foot and as scary as it was for my parents when I am little I have very few effects from it now. I’m sure it’s difficult now but I’m sure everything will turn out great and your kid will be able to do everything they desire in life❤️

Its amazing how babies can heal so easily. I'm glad his foot issue was fixed now, so he doesn't have problems later. My family keeps chickens for eggs, and recently, our hens figured out how to hatch eggs. And then my parents decided to get an incubator. Well, 1 of our 2 incubator chicks hatched with these crumpled up feet. We added a couple of old hand towls in the cage to give her a soft place to rest, and I'd occasionally pick her up and gently spread out her feet. 3 weeks later, amazingly, her feet managed to correct themselves without help.

A bit of inspiration for you: 1992 Olympic figure skating gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi was born with club feet. Skating was part of her physical therapy regimen as a child in the late 70s. The stiffness of the boots and crossovers strengthened her tendons and ankles. She kept going thru pairs and singles and the rest is history ❤❤❤

My grandpa had clubbed hands and feet and while I know they tried casting and surgeries, they didnt have the best results with it. This was like 100 years ago though so im sure they know way better how to fix it now and the tenotomy sounds like a huge help and hopefully his feet will stay fixed. That being said my grandpa had a very full life. He was an artist, a farmer, and a brilliant man. He was married and had 3 sons and multiple grand children and great grandchildren and none of us have had any foot problems, so at least my grandpa's problem wasn't genetic. I am so happy your boy is doing well and good luck for the future!!

My friend’s child was born with club feet. His mother followed all of the Dr’s orders with casting, braces and surgery. Allen grew tall and joined the air force. He later became a tower operator and directed planes flying in and out. He grew to be a tall and exceptionally good looking young man. He married, his wife had a beautiful child. He was a wonderful man.

No, it is possible. It happened to me. Vut might not be the best term for it, is just burns/irritates the skin so bad it broke. I told the dr it was burning and they were cutting me, but they said it wasn't possible... Ended up with a 10-15cm long cut on my forearm. 24 years later and I still have two separate scars from that cut.

When I was born, it was initially thought that I had club feet, because my legs were rotated inward 90° at the hips. I had to sleep wearing a DB bar. Flat connected bars with baby shoes bolted to them facing outward at 45° angles. I wore corrective shoes at school once I was walking, though I tripped over my own feet constantly. I still remember how painful the contraptions I had to wear at night were and hated them, since there were a series of them as I grew. I used to cry when those things were put on me. My mom would often come into my room, sitting on the floor beside my crib then my "big girl" bed, till I could fall asleep. As I got older, my hips will sometimes pop partially out of their sockets but I learned that if I sit cross legged on the floor and leaned towards the hip that was out, I could pop it back into the socket. I am 64 now and will probably get arthritis in my hips. 🫤

I'm so glad it was so good for him, I'm still struggling with scar tissue from mine. I hope this is all that he has to do! Only my right foot was clubbed, and the way I had it explained to me was they cut out bits of bone from my foot, put them in the wrong spaces to flatten it, and then wrapped my achillies around the bottom of my foot to keep it up. My right foot is a size and a half smaller than my left

My son was born with a club foot but it wasn’t just the foot it went up the leg and the knee cal was turned right around, he has the cast on his leg right from birth. He had to have 4 different surgeries on it. But now he’s 27 the scars are still there but now he has problems with his ankle and up his leg, I feel so bad for him because if he’s on his feet his foot leg and knee cap are so swollen and very painful. I hope your little boy won’t have problems when he’s older.

My youngest daughter had this done. She had soft casts on her legs so they would be easier to take off. Luckily casting one time made a big enough change that once the casts were off she had to wear special shoes, but on the wrong feet for about 6 months.
