In Poland, we have our equivalent of this performance. It's also a super famous singer, Edyta Górniak, one of the biggest stars here with an amazing voice, and she also wanted to play a diva and do her original version of the anthem. It's even funnier because there are fans in the stadium who are so confused and are singing in a usual way completely incompatible with what she is singing. And also, the altered melody resembles our Christmas song. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imjGh2aQqZJjj6M

@@LaynieFingers I have immense respect for performers that are only singing I feel like I'm being ripped apart the second I touch a string on my guitar and these people are standing completely exposed, and they have a choice to either move about in a way that's probably really awkward for everyone involved or take a more relaxed approach and risk making things boring and then they gotta sing ontop of it with what is basically the most accident prone instrument you can have, your own voice. Bitch ass vocal cords decide on their own when they wanna comply Fuuuuck that, I've wanted to hand vocalists my guitar like it's a security blanket every time I see them standing there with nothing in their hands, live performance is a hell of a rush but Christ it's nothing but anxiety before and during the performance and vocalists probably have the worst of it

The best way to get better is listening to yourself recorded in a high pressure system like a live show. I had some terrible vocal performances and that is what motivates me. The one that bugs me the most is I couldn't hear my other members singing in my monitor, so I hesitated and had to commit to a note and it was awful in the phone recording on youtube. I have to be better than I was last night every single show. It was that night that I learned. I need to know my note even if I can't hear my own voice. It's a feeling in your throat. You have to memorize the spots in your neck. And its always those little parts that you have doubts about in not knowing the exact note to hit every time. Once you practice those exact notes a bunch, then you can truely be free and rock it tf out and everyone will love you. But you have to start somewhere. When I started I felt like my backups was a follower, then it sometimes its a solo, and at its best you are the leader and backbone in backups. I can now fill my lungs up with air, and belt it proudly and solid for my band mates to grab onto. It takes confidence to have fun and rock out, but that practice makes the confidence.

Three Days Grace definitely wasn't prepared for this venue 'cause the Scotia Bank Theatre is big. And I'm soooo tempted to submit my own singing voice on Twitter. Only issues I have are: 1. My voice is too quiet and soft. 2. I can't decide on the song to sing (Too many I like out there).

I am a sound guy in NYC. I never worked New Year’s Eve. But I have first hand knowledge that Mariah Carey’s mishap was 100% sabotage by the sound guys due to being treated terribly by Mariah Carey.

No idea why anybody would want to roast you. It was an unpleasant surprise for me... I cannot imagine how much effort and care you put into researching different artists and styles to be able to rearrange them into something else and nail it perfectly. Your videos are pure joy and truly uplifting to watch. Thank you! Greetings from Europe!

SO this whole down to earth super humble self depreciative thing is getting out of hand.

Which probably means he's lacking in confidence and hides it through self deprecating humour It's under control though, he's clearly high functioning and productive, if his confidence was wrecked he'd definitely struggle to keep everything afloat I sure as fuck do lmao

Stage fright for me turned into major anxiety, throwing up, crying, shaking, heart pounding, throat closing up, rapid shallow breathing. Had to quit singing with my band! Every time I caught myself in someone's video clip at a gig it made me want to throw up and never sing again. :-(

*Ant, I really love the real you! The good, the bad, the ugly performances and in your personality. I have always appreciated honesty and vulnerability. It is very endearing! Incidentally, so what if you are? It's part of who you are! If you really are! You can be critical of yourself and your performances since you are a perfectionist; but don't put yourself down. You are fabulous and amazing, and special! Let go of the bad things are bring out the good things inside of you!*
