I hope this minimal/almost no step up from G3 means that Google is working on the next gen chip which will be targeted also for the PC platforms with ChromeOS which needs to be revived and brought more to light to directly compete with Windows and MacOS. Google is always asleep missing Arm PC band wagon popularized by Apple and now followed by M$ with Qualcomm+Nuvia ex Apple tech. Google must step up its game and jump on it ASAP, otherwise it will be way too late. ChromeOS with Android store need to be optimized for every x86 as possible Linux+Andorid apps alternative and even more and deeper optimized to Google's next Arm based PC chip. ChomesOS should be dual bootable, it must have exceptional touch screen, has to be closely connected to the Android ecosystem with deep integration to Android apps which can either run natively or through best possible emulation only Google can deliver. Basically Google next gen Arm based chip PC must deliver everything what Windows cannot while being both PC and Android ecosystem machine which is in sync with users native Android devices. Google used to be so agile and revolutionary before it turned into this heavy and slow corporate turd which keeps on stinking in the consumer market. They intentionally locked themselves way too much in the datacenter world and to data collection for generating revenue from ads.

I can guarantee you that most people complaining here in the comments are mostly people complaining based on benchmark numbers. And they’ve never actually owned a Pixel phone before. Pixels have never been about raw power, Google tends to make their phones more about AI and being smarter than the competition. Having owned 3 different Pixels(5a, 6, and 6a), I can tell you the biggest issues for Google are the numerous bugs/glitches, bad battery life, overheating, and awful modem connectivity. Allegedly, the modem is better this year and if that’ll fix connectivity issues and Google can ensure no bugs, they’ve made huge improvements in key areas this year. They added screens that will be used in the iPhone 16 lineup, they’re going to use the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from the S24 series, they literally stole the iPhone design and made it their own, and they upgraded charging speeds to 45W wired. They’re matching the specs of the competition except for power and if you’ve ever used a Pixel, you know they don’t need raw power. Pixels work well in overall performance, they just need to improve stability across the board. If that’s still not enough for the spec nerds, they need to either buy another brand of phone or give this new Pixel 9 series a chance.

the fact that even samsung ditch their own exynos for snapdragon is very interesting this tensor g4 made by Samsung is probably crap

Upgrading to the nine is exactly the same phone.

Maybe this explains why we didn't see MKBHD not showing benchmark, just kept going on about minor AI image improvements - all 3 phones in the 9 series are overpriced especially when you compare them to current flagships like a OnePlus 12, Xiami Pro 14 - keep in mind thst by the end of the year you will see phones using Next Gen Mediatek 9400 & Snapdragon 8/4 😂

But will it offset the Pixel 9 Fold smaller battery???? What is Google thinking when they shrink the MAH and have the cahones to call it their flagship device? Does Google think we are not playing attention? Google is getting as greedy as Samsung. Someone must need ANOTHER mega-yacht.

I don't care for gaming on mobile (don't like the micro transaction gaming) but I really don't like my Pixel 6. It's just getting to hot with just using browser. Modem on it is bad, it just takes to much energy. 2-4% just beeing on mobile, on wifi it's about 2%. Hotspot is killing the battery, one hour can suck 15%+. Is it still the same on Pixel 8s? I do not have much hope for Samsung modems, at least the one in the Pixel 6. My phone at work, ironially Samsung, only lose 1% battery per hour on Wifi an 1.5 on mobile network and 5-6% when it's used as a hotspot. I want to switch to a new one but honestly I don't want to spend a thousand bucks for 128GB stoage and a medicore performance /Batterylife from Google. The monthly updates a nice though, a lot of companies have some asterics* when they claim to do that, Samsung is one of those (Only long term monthly on S)

d0nt care lol yall act like chip chip power is the only thing .... wait till the Pixel 10 and then when they bump up the price yall gonna complain about that and say Google is not worth it... im still buying a Pixel 9 Pro xl... remember Google is still designing the chips so even if it was designed by TSM they still could limit it or design the architecture to do what Google intent it to do... not everything has to be overpowered to show its usefulnes

Its funny how google tslking about pixel 10 befkre they even lsunched the pixel9. They need to stop dragging their loyal soldiers along. Like their reply to being asked why they so fsr behind is "well the tensor g5 next year is ahead of this years samsun..." Like they jus snubbin their own ppl saying that onky rhe employees get the real flagship like i dont get this shit it makes no sense i saw that google employees said their preferred phone is samsung snd the description on pixels website is so like the way im talking right now. The engineers saying "it does more whatever" im perplexd. I miss the Nexus days especially the 4-5 like omg thise eere the dayd even the designs were just so much better. Phones rlly seem to have devolved
