The funny thing to mention about the villains is that they're surprisingly more logical than the so called "good" people of Atlantis, think about it. The king of Atlantis gives them the elixir of immortality to live in Atlantis and on that island forever away from civilization (yet Elizabeth and Don Juan are fine with this?) whereas the rats want to use the elixir to fight back at them and stop with all these insanities. Granted, that does include them wanting to take over the world, but at least they're trying to stop human beings from ever entering that hellhole of an undersea world. How the hell do you get something as basic as human desires so wrong?

You spoke of them making a Titanic based franchise. They actually did it! There exists an animated series called "Fantasy Island" with episodes right here on KZbin, that's a continuation of this movie. And there appear to be at least 26 of them! I randomly picked a point in the middle of the 26th episode, and yup, the Titanic is still somehow involved in whatever is going on in Atlantis. So far I've not seen anybody review that, though I'm not sure if there's enough alcohol in the world to make that bearable.

I remember someone told me about this and the rapping shark and I screamed "WHAT???" How was this real? There was nothing about the first film that warranted a sequel, and even if there was it wouldn't be worth it! Why? Because it wrapped up the story with nothing left to tell and was horribly insulting to the people who actually died on the Titanic. It's a sad day when I have to give Disney direct to DVD sequels more credit. Even Belle's Magical Trash I would believe had one or two writers who cared and it could fit the time frame had there been better writing. Here, I can't even tell if there was one sober writer at all!!!
