okay so I did post a WIP of an ebb & flow remix in that compilation vid a while back and as you may be able to hear, it was completely overhauled lol but I think this works a lot better and I'm quite proud of it. I really struggled with ideas this month, but once I got this one down, it was smooth sailing from there. hopefully I'll stick to two uploads a month!

have you tried asking for ideas before? Sorry if you have and i don't know it, despite being here for a while, i don't pay much attention to the comments. Don't feel forced to upload quickly, because your creating content on an absolutley free platform, brightening our days. If i were to request something, i would do something super mario odyssey related. If i had to request a specific song in that soundtrack, it would be cap kingdoms piece.

it’s not so much about ideas for a source, it’s how to execute an idea in a remix I don’t know how to properly word it, and also motivation. a lot of the time I will have a source in mind but have no idea what to do with it to make it worth remixing, and other times it’s more about actually liking the idea enough to bring it forward in the first place. since it’s more motivation/energy and headspace focused, I can’t exactly “ask” for it haha. and in terms of asking for source ideas, I tend not to simply because I then feel personally detached from it, since it feels more like I’m just trying to meet someone else’s needs, which is also why I tend to stray away from requests unless I feel strongly enough about it. examples of this interference with my motivation include my tide goes out remix, trucy wright’s theme, maya fey’s theme, my failed attempts for last year’s Pokémon megamixes, the list goes on... but don’t feel bad if you do ask for stuff, I’m by no means faulting anyone who does, in fact I appreciate it a lot, but just thought I’d get my mind out there haha. thanks for the kind intent~ EDIT: for some extra perspective, this remix actually went through 4 different iterations to finally settle on this idea, and tide goes out took 5, taking weeks if not months to complete both. but for some others, the process can go through just one form and take a few hours to complete.

In fact i think you did know how to word it, its just that you didn't have any confidence in your ability to word it. I definetly see lacking motivation to do something a problem, because this channel is mainly a "passion project" for you, i assume. Thankyou for putting this much thought and time into a comment, even if it was something that you have had a lot of thinking about beforehand. Also, i would like to ask a couple of questions: What does the sketch for your profile picture represent, and generally, how much free time do you spend doing remixes? Cause i don't exactly have something that i do specifically for my free time. What i mainly do is watch youtube videos... I don't have much expierience being a creator

haha the sketch is actually a drawing of myself, but it’s mainly a tentative image as a placeholder for some updates I would like to make to the channel quite soon actually. and in terms of the amount of time I spend on remixing, you can equate it to that of a hobby, although I do take it more seriously since I am studying music in university currently. in short it’s something to fill time and it’s also quite fulfilling. but since I am intending to pursue music further as a career, you can liken to how freehand drawing is practice for an artist. numbers-wise, I’d like to say one or two hours a day, but in reality it’s more like 5-6 hours on each day of the weekend, and my other free time is spent playing my switch, 3ds, and on the internet, primarily youtube, and listening to music. hope that answers your question haha

I love this! I wish it was a real game. 🥺 The song sounds so summery, and it reminds me of how I love the island resort theme of the April Fools game, and also the fanmade version of Splatoon 3. I just wish Splatoon had more exploration and more liveliness to make the characters seem like actually people you can customize and explore with in an open area. And also Ebb and Flow is my favorite soundtrack. If only Splatoon 3 went in a more Island summer vacation setting, or if only it was explored more in Splatoon 2. The games definitely had the tools, but they just didn't utilize it.

@@lemonade4520 Not just open world. When I first saw Splatoon thought it would at least allow you to walk around to different areas and talk to people like Zelda or Pokemon. Not open world, but just able to explore. But instead you go to a hub world that you can hardly explore, save for a few buildings, and you only talk to a strict amount of people. You can't even talk to the idols in some cases. And it makes the games feel less lively and more like the characters are just there to feel a role, and not actually there.
