I have two Orion 565ATs....the receivers are amazing. Notice in the video RF gain at 100%. To really make this radio sound great, drop that gain down and turn up AF Gain if necessary. The noise goes away and all you'll hear is the voice coming through.

I have the first generation of the Orion. It's a fantastic radio as well, but It's way over my head as to all it will do. I need to sell it. I have and still use the Omni VI Plus. That's more my speed. Of course I have 2 of the Scouts, an Argonaut, and the Eagle as well. I'm radio poor!

I have the 565.. Mic. Wiring is unique. The earth return for PTT and mic. braid MUST be kept separate. Read the manual regarding that. I run mine with condenser mic. My SNAPHAT batt has just failed.. 73.

Iv had a few TenTec in my day from Corsair to Omni 6.Just love them and something a bit different to the usual jap black box. The Orion is a rare beast here in the UK
